Hi - Does anyone here bet on UK sports (premier league, rugby, horses)? If so, which books do you use and which do you recommended?

Thanks. I will look into them. What do you guys think of the big UK books - Ladbrokes and William Hill? Is there anything you look for in these books other than the odds on specific games? In terms of credibility, payouts, bets offered they seem very similar to me.

William Hill is supposed to be good. ladbroke's offices are supposed to be bigger than a small town. I would assume they are solid.

Welcome to therx!

You should be fine with the big 2, however, you might also like to check out sportingodds as they seem pretty competent - however, I don't know how fast their payouts are.

Good luck!

IF you want to bet on UK sports using a computer to place your bets I would recommend Betfair. They offer "juice free" odds on all major UK sports markets such as premiership soccer. The only charge you will pay is 5% of your winnings. This still works out as better value than the bookmakers in most cases.

As I'm sure many gamblers on this forum will tell you getting the best odds for your bet is extremely important and can be the difference between being in profit/loss at the end of the year. 95 times out of a hundred for UK sports you will find the best odds are on Betfair.

No problems with security of funds as they are booking a large volume of bets and you are betting against other gamblers rather than against Betfair so Betfair have no exposure only profit on a given market.

They have already captured a large portion of the UK betting market and if the difference in value they offer continues to be well above the other UK bookmakers only the squarest of the square will continue to bet at traditional UK bookmakers.

If you prefer a traditional bookmaker then the prescription sponsers Bet365 are indeed a good option although if you place large stakes which win you may be limited.
