First let me say that I do not have an account with Betpanam. I have read with great interest the issues involving this sportsbook over the last several days and the angst expressed by several contributors & readers of this site.

When Betpanam opened its' doors in the Fall it was met with great fanfare on this site. The people running it were first rate, reduced juice etc. But nobody who signed up ever worried about a track record, there was none. People can be well intentioned and services can be first rate but you should have a track record.

I live in Massachusetts. Two years ago The Patriots went to The Super Bowl. 95% of the bettors in this region were convinced The Patriots would cover the spread. Most believed they would win the game. The action WAS ALL PATRIOTS. Bookmakers took a beating. For two days after The Super Bowl The Boston Herald was running articles detailing the losses. Some bookies didn't pay-up and simply disappeared. The ones who stayed around and paid-up in my book have proven they can be relied on at all times.

This brings us back to Betpanam. Did they have the best of intentions? Probably so. But they have no track record of producing when the going gets tough. Compounding this is the fact that they are located in foreign country. It's not as if you can see them on the street and demand your money as if they were your neighborhood bookie.

Two other thing to note:

"Bill" who has been brought in to fix the situation complains of a poor business plan. What business plan? You put out a number that you believe is sharp enough so that you keep e more than you payout.

Second "Bill" also said the investors could payoff the debts out of their pockets. O.K. what's the problem?

After this longwinded post my main point is that I constantly hear petty complaints about sportsbooks who have been around for years and ALWAYS pay their customers.

Next Fall, as sure as I am writing this, a new sportsbook will open, probably to a lot of positive reaction on this site. The people will be first rate, the perks will be many. But can they stand the test of time?

I would never have thought they would not be able to pay people - when push comes to shove the only books I would really feel fine leaving large balances at are WWTS, WSEX, Pinnacle, Bowmans, Olympic, CRIS and the Australians - that's it - of course, I play at a million others places though.
