He's got some terrier in him, probably part pitbull. Don't get alarmed. If he's at 11 months and isn't going off on other dogs he's probably not going to be aggressive. I own two pits and they're not people mean by nature. They are, however, easy to make mean. Just don't encourage him to be agressive and he should make you a fine pet.

A few months back, I inherited a dog from a neighbor who passed on. He's clyde, and he looks a whole lot like the dog in your picture.
My old buddy always said he was a 'short legged lab' and we all laughed. I say he's a little chocolate lab, with a little pit bull. He's about 80 pounds, short legs, very broad chest, barrel chested Id say. He runs fast (quick short legged lab for sure), is very nicely tempered around kids, and his tail spins like a helicopter (counter clockwise from the back).

Just one thing to say about the tug o war. Its good for a spookish puppy, but for a dog who is already confident, it could lead him to believe that you and him are on the same level. Maybe find someone else to antagonize him. I just got a new german shepphard pup, he's 9 months now, and Im using the fact that all the strays are at our house because the neighbors dog is in heat. So because all the males are outside barking and raising hell, and I cannot get any work done, Im outside teaching my lil Jaws to 'watch' the other males and not be scared. He's not ready to mount her and still not as confident as he needs to become, but I suspect its working well for his confidence.
I try to stay away from hand games (where he chews on my arm, even though he's not biting hard) and tug-o-war because I dont ever want him to suspect he can challenge me. When he's a bit more obedient, Ill hire a stranger to antagonize him.

Good one. i have never thought about the idea that tog o war would give the dog the impression that he could challenge me. Man have I got alot to learn about dogs...thanks for the info.

There's an excellent book on dog training that was written by some monks. I'll try to find out the name of it for you. But you have to be the alpha male to keep control of your dogs. There are many methods but being firm with them is imperative. My male pit is about 70lbs and he'd be a handful is he ever got the idea he was boss. BTW... my female pit is named Taz also. That Presa of your's is a beautiful animal... you should be proud of it.
