I am thinking that the two week wait has its pluses and minuses. I guess i was just hoping for football tomorrow.

the 2 weeks is cool. it just adds to the hype and the buildup. which in turn adds more money to everyone involved. it is the biggest sporting event in the usa so they get all the mileage they can out of it. but it has become such a party so to speak that the game itself does not seem to be the focal point that it should. you know what i mean?

One week is better, IMO. I think 2 weeks is too much time for hype. The most competitive SuperBowls have been with only 1 week. If I was going to the game, maybe 2 weeks would be good for some cities. Like maybe Miami or New Orleans. Not sure what I would do with extra time in Houston. It just feels funny not having football this Sunday, after about 19 straight weeks.

Two weeks give both sets of players extra time to heal/recover from the playoffs (which should have been more grueling that a normal in-season game). For all the money and hype, it makes sense to give the teams a better chance to play at their highest level.

Two weeks is much better for the gambling industry and that is all that counts in my world.

java makes a good point, but 2 weeks also gives the players too much time to party and be bothered by family members looking for hand outs

I like the two week wait. Gives more time for preparation. Makes for a better game. And lets the hype really build up.
