Some question on Kobe. I think he was gonna participate in the shootaround.

Really don't think the Lakers will play Kobe this early though. Why risk further injury? Lakers have become laissez-faire towards the regular season. They know they're gonna make the playoffs, they're not too worried about regular-season games (although home-court advantage will become a bigger issue in Feb/March).

Just call it Shaq's annual vacation. When was the last time he even played a full season without injury? You know its all rigged though with the injuries keeping him out of games because amazingly Shaq never misses the postseason even though everyone is hitting him harder and more often.

LA LAKERS - G KOBE BRYANT (SHOULDER) IS DOUBTFUL.

UTAH - F ANDREI KIRILENKO (ANKLE) IS DOUBTFUL.

LA LAKERS -
(01/24 03:10am) G Kobe Bryant (shoulder) downgraded from "?" to doubtful.
The Daily News reports -
Bryant plans to test his sprained right shoulder and, if all goes well,
will ask to be activated from the injured list for tonight's game.
However, the team still considers him doubtful.
(01/23 05:05am) F Brian Cook (finger) is expected to miss.
(01/23 05:04am) F Jamal Sampson (ankle) is "?".
(01/23 05:04am) F Horace Grant (personal) missed last few games but is probable.
(01/23 05:04am) C Shaquille O'Neal (calf) is expected to miss.
(01/23 05:04am) F Karl Malone (knee) IL.

UTAH -
(01/24 03:14am) F Andrei Kirilenko (ankle) is doubtful.
The Examiner reports -
The Jazz have questions with their own lineup as forward Andrei
Kirilenko could possibly return to action tonight as he recovers from a
sprained ankle. He has missed the last three games, though, and
is doubtful tonight.
(01/23 05:13am) F Matt Harpring (knee) IL.

WTF is up with that. Shaq just decides he doesn't want to play and then when it gets to playoffs, he is fine. What a contract he must have. He may as well quit and go be an FBI agent like he wants.

Think he could go undercover in the field?

Most teams do this with their injured players. There is a difference between injured and playoff-injured.

Iverson missed 4-5 weeks. But if it was the playoffs, he probably could've played every game.

Sacramento is gonna take their time with Webber. No need to rush him back.

Even the Cavs are half-assing it with LeBron. Nobody expects the Cavs to make the playoffs anyway, so why force the savior of the franchise to play on a bad ankle? Plus, the Cavs host the Lakers in a TV game on Feb 4th, so the Cavs probably want LeBron to be 100% for that.
