NEW YORK FAN BASE??

Not from the New York area so excuse my ignorance here.

I am sure many of you can comment with accuracy on these subjects........

1. Are YANKEE fans more GIANTS or JETS fans?

2. Are METS fans more GIANTS of JETS fans?

3. Is there a close affiliation with the fans of the hockey RANGERS or basketball KNICKS towards either the METS,YANKS,GIANTS, or JETS??

Thanks, any further observations beyond what I asked would be nice to hear also.

Going back to the 60's, and right up through today, I believe the Yankee fans lean to the Giants and the Mets fans lean to the Jets. Most Knick and Ranger fans are more for the Mets and Jets. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule. But I have to believe most lean this way. I hope this helps.

I'm from New York and have ALWAYS been a Yankee fan.

I like both football teams, (Giants more than the Jets) but neither one plays in New York.
They both play in New Jersey.

I don't follow basketball or hockey.

"DA BEARS" are my true favorite..even though they lose quite a bit. True Bear fans NEVER give up and root for them till the end.

New York Yankees, Giants, Orangemen. But I'm a NJ Devils fan. NBA, I like a lot of teams.

Grew up in NJ (less than 2 mi. ac**** the river from NY) and live in NY now....

In my experience here's the way it plays...

Fan A) Giants, Yanks, Knicks, Rangers
Fan B) Jets, Mets, Knicks, Hockey - wildcard

(I'm fan A)

Very few HARDCORE (before they became good)Nets/Devils fans around. Despite growing up in NJ I adopted most of my dad's teams and the Nets were not around so he rooted for the Knicks when he was younger and I adopted them as well. Funny thing is that he was a Jets fan and my favorite color was blue when I was a tyke so the Giants became "my team."

BTW, most fans will root for all teams unless they play each other.

Exception - Mets fans hate the Yanks and Yankee fans. Yankee fans could care less about the Mets and their fans.

Swami, I think you hit that nail on the head.
But being a Yankees fan, I don't hate the Red Sox and their fans, but they love to hate us, lol. Nobody's perfect.

I WISH I could say the same....I do NOT hate the Red Sox but I HATE their fans with a passion. They are generally annoying and can talk about nothing except hating the Yankees and how bad General Steingrabber is, how Jeter is overrated, how big our payroll is....yada..yada..yada...

The guy who sits in the office next to me is a huge Sox fan..it's amazing that I have not killed him yet. I think it's because he gives me money and buys me lunch a few times during and after baseball season...
