Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday outside of a Berkeley barbershop, police said.

Johnson, 31, had stepped outside the barbershop and was talking on his cell phone when he was confronted by two men armed with either a shotgun or a rifle, said Berkeley police spokesman Kevin Schofield.

The suspects took Johnson's cash and a small amount of jewelry from him before fleeing in a 1970s light blue American-made car, according to witnesses.

The 6-foot-4 NFL star was not injured during the robbery, which was reported at 3:29 p.m. in the 2900 block of Sacramento Street.

"It's an area well known by police,'' Schofield said. "It's well known for drug activity and for a certain amount of violence.''

Schofield said he did not know why Johnson, who was benched by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year after repeatedly clashing with coach Jon Gruden, was in Berkeley.

WIL-

Reports out of Tampa are that it was a set-up by KJ to collect insurance money.

I only go by what I hear.

Keyshawn just dropped the jewelry and money when he saw the robbers, then turned around and shook his head lookign or Gruden. Then he blamed it on Marvin Harrison.

Wil...when I read your topic. The first thing that came to mind was the scene in Blazing Saddles.

Patriot - LMAO - Howard Johnson: As chairman of the welcoming committee, it's a pleasure to present a Laurel and Hardy handshake to our new sheri---. And my favorite passage from the movie:

Hedley Lamarr: I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists!

I wonder if Keyshawn dropped the rock while he was getting mugged as fast as he dropped the rock when he was going over the middle for Tampa Bay.

For a so-called possession receiver, albeit highest paid one in the NFL, he dropped more damned passes than I could count.

He's in for a huge pay cut this year.
