I for one, barring Pinnacle because of my greed,(just kidding), would seriously think of pulling my money from any book that backed down to these terrorists. Anyone here have an opinion on this issue?

Agree,
To me a book that pays these lowlives is NOT one I want to play with. But we will never know.

I think it's a business decision that each book would have to make. It wouldn't influence me one way or the other. There are a lot more important considerations, like is the book safe, the lines offered, things like that.

If they don't want to get attacked then they should drag their infrastructure into the 21st century.

I know everyone here says they don't want any books to pay up. At the same time, everyone is on here crying about not being able to get in to their books.

The real questions is:

Do you support books not paying the DOS attackers even if it means you may not be able to get your action in?

I'd get concerned about their long-term solvency so I might keep a lower balance there. Standing up to the hackers is more expensive in the short run but pays dividends in the long run IMO. A defiant book is in it for the long haul and that's a positive sign for me.

That is a tuff one....

I would like to say that I wouldn't play at a book that paid the attackers, but then again what if the majority of their company is internet based without much of a call center base. They are then put in a real tough spot. They need a fast fix. Where as a company that has both can somewhat afford to wait to fix the problem.

I don't know my initial reaction is to say I would play with only the books that didn't pay as it would help solve the problem. But I could argue both.

Books that pay only encourage hackers to keep doing it, let's use the phone and make their hacking system hamrless

I do not think a boycott is a good solution as that only harms the book more and may cause more serious problems.

IF a mugger is trying to steal your wifes purse and has a gun to her head are you going to tell her to fight like hell based on principle? or you gonna tell her to give up the damn purse?

Screw me once shame on you.
Screw me again shame on me.

Pay the bastards, then fix it so it doesn't happen again. Then track them down and beat them like dogs.

A book which has a dozen of 10$ bettors cannot pay any amount,so they raise the brave-flag and hope to see hackers quitting.
Not that I support the hackers, but if you have a solid shop and some ambitions about it,you don't just sit on your ass waiting for the hackers to get bored!

I would have to respect the books decision.

It would not prevent me from betting with them as long as I liked them and trusted them.

Unless a book has deep pockets and a very keen tech support staff (like CRIS), they will be virtually put out of internet business by the hackers. It's just that simple.

If an owner wants to play a macho game, good luck. Some places invested several hundred thousand in software, equipment, and pre-paid advertising. Unfortunately, paying another $20k ends up being a business decision.

Where does it end.

First they came for all the male children less than 1 year of age. (Didn't bother me--I had none) Then they came for the old women over X years of age. Didn't bother me, none in my house. Then they came for me!

Did Pinnacle actually pay these terrorists?

I don't understand... I mean IF the books pay, what guarantee is there that they won't come back a week later, under a different name?

I think ALL books now know this is a real threat. Rather than pay the hackers, those companies that are here to serve us long term will invest in further protecting their businesses from such attacks.

If a book cannot afford to secure their online business, they will not be seeing my money!

Yeah, can't really blame Pinny for that given the circumstances... but my point is that books don't really have an excuse for being unprepared anymore. Thoughts?

i think...
since superbowl is coming on the 1st,
attacks could be expected by. 27-28-29-
in a desperate solution, hackers
can cash-out on saturday...31,
in this case, what we can do,,,
is to prepare the ICE GIGA ROUTERS,
to expect DOS Attacks, or, if they don't want to help us, just advice the next Hop, (ICE PROVIDER)..
