If you wager 3-5 straights for $100, then play a parlay against all for a quarter. It's a good strategy. I very seldom play any parlays.

Parlays, as a whole, have a very UNDESERVED reputation as being a terrible type of wager.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

I do this with a few wagers a week. It doesn't really help me make money but helps me not lose as much..

Very bad strategy, although many on these boards seem to condone it...Those 0-5 days really piss you off and stick in your mind, but if you watch they will occur very rarely. If you are betting 5 games a day and you hit at 55%, you will go 0-5 about once every 2 months on average. That day is the ONLY day that you benefit from this strategy. Every other day you are throwing away that "insurance" parlay. It adds up and will turn a winning player into a losing one real quick...

2- and 3-teamers are fine. They will make you win/lose faster, but it affects the quality of your wagers only minimally. (In fact 3-teamers hold slighlty LESS juice than straight wagers at -110)

HOWEVER...any parlay of 4-teams or more should be avoided always. Book takes much more vig out of these than straight wagers. In general, the more teams you parlay, the more of an edge you are giving to the book...
