It's about a casino, but the preview sounds a little corny. I'm heading out to watch something as these geriatric incompetent excuses for officials are upsetting me ... first the defensensive-hold-a-thon in Gilletteboro ... and now McNabbs practically gets killed on a late hit and no flag.

Did anyone like this movie? I'm hoping to avoid actually paying money for some crap like 'Along came Polly' and its pointless storyline.

The Cooler
Release Date: November 26, 2003
Rating: R - strong sexuality, violence, language and some drug use
Running Time: 1 hr. 41 min.
Genre: Comedy, Drama
Cast: William H. Macy, Maria Bello, Alec Baldwin
Director: Wayne Kramer

A shifty casino owner (Alec Baldwin) hires a compulsive loser (William H. Macy) to stand by the winners at the tables and help their winning streaks turn to losing streaks just by virtue of his downtrodden presence. Things start to change, though, when a waitress takes a liking to the fellow and his luck begins to turn, along with the casino's other visitors.

Believe it or not that would star corrupt NHL referee Paul Stewart. Back when the Sabers were decent in the Dominator era it was a foregone conclusion that if this terd on skates what "officiating" that the Sabres would get at least twice the penalties as the opposition and subsequentally usually lose.

Remember the time Sabres coach Jim Schoenfield screamed at Don Kowharski to have another donut? Histerical.

I can't believe you never heard of the incident. It is one of the highlights of Buffalo Sabres history. Happened after a playoff game the Sabres lost. Schoenfield chased Kowharski down the tunnel towards the Refs dressing room, screaming "Have another donut".

heheheh- monster looks like your type of movie

Theron plays Aileen Wuornos, a real-life truck-stop prostitute and serial killer who, over nine months, murdered any trucker who allegedly tried to rape her. Ricci plays a woman Wuornos took as a lover during her killing spree.

$4.25 for a small popcorn.
$4.00 for a small soda.

Ridiculous.

Really, I like just about anything that isn't a love story or just bizarre (ie Vanilla Sky). I prefer a good drama that makes you think - like a Pelican Brief, but really anything is cool with me.

Sounds like a great film. I think I'll check that one out.

Thanks.

It sounds a little somber, but otherwise a solid plot - hopefully it won't induce me into manic-depression
