Hula bowl help

Search
We apologize for the confusion over this game, but it all stems from the fact that last year "Kai" was the North and "Aina" was the South. This year, they reversed it. We didn't catch the change until earlier today.

The bottom line is that the favorite was Kia, regardless of whether someone labeled them "North" or "South". In the future, we plan to eliminate any reference to North and South.

Thank you.

LOL......is there a phone in the office that hasn't stopped ringing?

A LOT of books will take this one right up the A$$ on this one.

You'll hear about this one for a while.

With all of this confusion, does anybody know if in fact the North definitely won this game?
My bet reads "North (KAI) - 1 1/2". The way it is worded, how should this be graded (I bet it at pinnacle)? It seems like with all of the mess, a refund seems like the fairest thing.

To update - Pinnacle originally graded my North(KIA) bet as a loss and then switched it to a win after I emailed them asking them to look into it. It's sure nice to be with a classy book like Pinnacle when I am sure alot of other books will screw customers over in this situation. I told them I would be satisfied with merely a refund, and they did more than I expected. A big thumbs up to pinnacle.

Any other word with how books handled this?

Funny sidebar: Sportsline.com has the game story with Aina winning 26-7, but linescore on the same page has Kai winning 26-7. Not even people at the game knew which was which

In case the link gets changed, here's the printout of the first few paragraphs and the linescore:

SportsLine.com wire reports
WAILUKU, Hawaii -- Iowa's Fred Russell ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns to help Aina beat Kai 26-7 in the Hula Bowl on Saturday.

The speedy, 5-foot-8 back carried the ball eight times, including scoring runs of 12 and 35 yards, and was selected Aina's most valuable player.

The college All-Star Game featured 96 seniors and was played on an 81-degree day in front of 9,128 fans at War Memorial Stadium on Maui.

Aina, which means "land" in Hawaiian, was led by Ohio State coach Jim Tressel. Kai, which means "ocean," was coached by Maryland's Ralph Friedgen.

Both coaches had floral leis and were appropriately dressed in Hawaiian shirts and shorts.

Aina built a 16-0 lead and went into halftime with a 19-7 advantage behind the play of Central Florida's Ryan Schneider.

SCOREBOARD
Final 1 2 3 4 T
Kai (1-0) « 9 10 0 7 26
Aina (0-1) 0 7 0 0 7

michaganmike,

Pinnacle may not be as generous as you think. They may have just graded it in whichever way maximizes their revenue. If they got more people betting south then they are best off this way. You just may have lucked out here.
