Am thinking of joining up with Pinnacle as my second book, how reliable and how good are they. Also how are the bonuses?

thanks

Forget the bonuses(Maybe a 10% new member, no re-up), but the vig will make up for it easily. Reliable as the sun setting IMO.

What you see is what you get. Very easy to use interface and on the rare chance i get a payout it is lighting quick. More importantly for me lighting quick deposits also. LOL. I would say anyone that plays straight games would say they are the best aside from the fact that many think they are the sharpest as well which could influence their opinion a bit.

This place has a search function. Works wonderfully. You just type in a word, say "pinnacle" and out pops hundreds of posts and opinions.

I swear, I'm at the point where people ask about "bonuses" and I immediately dislike/don't trust them. Am I the only one? I can just imagine how the books must feel about these type.

Real handicappers are only looking for safe and reliable places to bet. Bonuses just don't seem important at all.

And for that matter, I don't trust books that pander to the "bonus crowd".

Any book offering 10% to 15% cash bonus is immediately in my mind considered desperate and high risk.

I only play with the cream.

Bonuses can be seen as temporary reduced juice. There is nothing wong with someone looking for that. It has a below face value but one none the less. Its up to the books to protect themsleves from vulnerabilities. After all, they offer them.

You can get a 25% bonus there if you sign up through sites that pitch in.

Otherwise, 10% with longterm value can't be beat.

sports advisory, great point. high bonuses mean scary books. pinnacle is the cream of the crop. their reduced vig is much more important than bonuses.

I have always considered them. I guess the one thing that scares me off is that I cannot find a phone number for them to call with issues or if I need to make a quick wager and I am not home or near a computer. Any thoughts on this?

Pinnacle is a great book, but realize its limitations. Its the Wal-Mart of sportsbooks.
You can't expect the same level of service at Wal-Mart that you would get at a high-end store with higher prices.
That being said, Pinnacle has answered the few questions I have had satisfactorily and within a reasonable amount of time in the 3 years I've been with them. Only by e-mail, though, and I understand why.

vegas- Very good point. They strongly discourage phone calls. Customer service questions and wagers. This issue is what keeps Pinnacle from being the best sportsbook out there. They want customer service issues to be handled by e-mail. That is fine most of the time but there are occasions where you need to talk to someone. You can wager with them by phone but you don't get the reduced vig and there are some things you can't bet on the phone. Don't ask me what they are because Pinnacle doesn't bother to list those in their FAQ section. Pinnacle does what they want to do because they're big and they know it.

They are a solid book but aren't exactly the kings of customer service. For some reason which I've never figured out, they feel you should have access to your computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That isn't realistic. I make 95% of my wagers over the internet but there are times you need to make a phone wager and that can be a challenge with Pinnacle.
