Hockey seems to get more and more boring. Isn't there one Canadian smart enough to widen the net?

They really have to do something to spice things up here. Even my Canadian friends agree with me that games are boring unless you are there live with at least a 6 pack in your gut. Is there anyone out there listening? I didn't think so.

Would ruin the sport as we know it.

Heard Gretzky talk on the subject.

Hockey would become like baseball now..........records start becomig meaningless.

The answer is so obvious . . . olympic size ice surface. Players are so big and fast there's little room for creativity anymore. Unfortunately, they had their chance to adopt bigger ice 10-15 years ago when they were building all these new rinks, and didn't do it.

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

Great post. The sports has not changed along with the current size of these players. it is comical when you go to a game now. these goalies are so huge that you can barely see any space between them and the goal post. I can't believe that they score as much as they do. something really should be done here or hockey will start to really suffer. Bottom line, these players were not as big 30 years ago. Steroids, better nutrition, less labatts, whatever it is, these guys are a lot bigger, and the net should be bigger too.

I've been a big hockey fan since I was about 5 years old and the game has become unwatchable. Brett Hull said it all a couple seasons ago when he said he wouldn't pay to watch the product that's on the ice today. He's right. The game stinks.

The first thing that has to be done is widen the rink to 100 feet from the current 85 feet. The constant clutching and grabbing along with the hooking have been the biggest factors in slowing the game down.

The goaltender's equipment looks like a suit of armor and needs to be downsized. The leg pads are way too wide. Hockey was once a great game and can be again but there has to be lots of changes made starting now.

LOL- Indoor soccer is a very exciting sport, at one time it looked like it might really take off...The outdoor game will never flourish here, American's want ACTION!
