I don't mean to sound alarmist but now is the time to start lowering the water level offshore. Please review your balances at each establishment and make adjustments accordingly. You should be paying attention WEEKLY, but for those who haven't now is your chance. Post Super Bowl is prime season to get stiffed so take action NOW!

There are a few different times and if I listen to everyone I will never be able to keep a sportsbook funded

1.Start of the football season(because all the books just recieved the juicy deposit money so they may skip)

2.Now?

3.At the end of the superbowl?

4.The start of March madness. Just re read number 1. and add basketball instead of football.

5. Baseball season- Ohh no the books get killed so they may fold now.

While I agree at the smaller books this may be needed. I do not think it matters at the bigeer long time books like Oly and Pinny...I have never reduced balance after the SB at oly or pinny . and of course NEVER a problem there

Dante,

I agree that there is less of a concern at what are considered "top tier" books, but my thinking is that if football is the most bet on American sport, you may have more money than you need at the "top tier" books. Too many people look at these places like they are banks which they are not.

If i had to to the troubles you guys have to get a bet safely on, safely paid and having a balance safe and secure i would never bother betting.

North America is in the dark ages when it comes to sportsbetting, funding & security of accounts.

Back in the UK - I use mt debit card to fund my account - FREE any amount and withdraw money straight to my bank account - ALSO FREE.

Security is a matter of common sense - if you are so greedy that you go for books that offer something that seems way too good - be prepared for the worst.

I bet with Betfair (an exchange) and since they are taking no risk there's no reason they should stiff me so i don't have any sleepless nights wondering about my balance.

Dante,
I never have a problem reducing my balance at Pinny - I just make 3 or 4 wagers on their "soft" lines and WALA, my balance is magically reduced the next day!

I already reduced by about 40 % after the regular season ended, will probably pull out another 25 % after this weekend and then some of whats left over after the super bowl.

I'm 90 % in Grade A books anyways so I'm no too worried about a stiff job.

just common sense. any book that has had 'trouble' in the last few months like royal, sibet, bhb and rio/skybook should be avoided at all cost. IMHO

While the big books are pretty safe, they same can not be said for all the others.

Most years, the books clean up with Superbowl and playoffs. But, sometimes they get killed. The forums have far too many sad stories of players that got screwed. Be smart. Don't keep more money in a book than you need to wager. If a bonus program looks too good, it probably is. If you wonder, "how can they possibly make money with these rules/odds/deals?" consider "stealing" as one of their options.
As far as money management, don't chase the entire season of losses with a superbowl bet.

Good luck!

Fishman,
Why not wwts or intertops??? Intertops has been around for 20+ years. I thought these two are safe.

Please understand.............NO BOOK is 100% safe.

Do your own research, and make your OWN sound decisions on what you discover!!
