I've had a BoDog account for about a month, and have come to some conclusions. It seems like the favorites are always giving more points, except for the games where the dog is the obvious pick. On those games, it seems like the dog is getting less points than all other lines. They seem almost useless, except to easily spot games where the Wise Guys are betting dogs. Anyone else feel this way?

I liked bodog when I played with them except that there lines are not overnight at times ...I am used to pinny and Oly that have lines up days in advance at times. Its amazing I try other books and always end up back at pinny and oly

Dante- I recommend having 4-5 active books at all times to be efficient in this racket.

Dante, every guy here needs those 4 books regardless of the amount they bet. without those four they will give-up at least an 1/2 pt more then need be several times a week. those 1/2 pt over lays will hurt you over a years time

Bodog pisses me off sometimes though, for the Sugar Bowl they had LSU +7 (-130). They are so damn afraid of moving off of any number that they just move the money. When the money on a game is -115 or -120 and the line is 5.5, it's enough to make me punch the screen.

Which also highlights the need to have more than 1 out.

I probably should just stay out of this thread because I am sick of having my name attached to everything BoDog. But, I hear this a lot about them so I will just give you guys a short speach and peace out.

BoDog is trying to beat you, flat out. They are a book and they want you to lose, that is their business. I know a lot of you are unhappy about the times the lines sometimes are posted, how they won't move sometimes when you think they should, etc. While these are all valid points I think some of you don't understand that they are in the business to make money. They do that by making calculated decisions on the numbers they hang. What this in turn does is offer you the security of knowing that your money is safe there because the owners aren't betting into other shops with your money to try and make their profits. Risk management is what i suppose it would be called in a regular business.

So while I know it sucks I think this should show everyone something about the business savvy BoDog actually has.

Have a couple outs to always be able to shop for numbers but make sure BoDog is one of them because you money will be safe there

If you think you'll always get the best number restricting yourself to Pinnacle, Olympic, CRIS and 5 Dimes, you are crazy. I'd say you have a better shot going with Oasis, BoDog, SIA and Wagerstreet if you are a small limit player.

If you are shopping and playing Pinnacle a majority of the time, chances are you are getting killed. When Henry offers the best line, there's usually a reason for it.

Pinnacle is good because when Henry doesn't have a strong opinion, you can save 1 or 2 cents.

For instance instead of -130/+120 you might get a +122. The problem is that when Henry has an opinion he tends to be right more than he is wrong. I am not saying to play into a bad number, that is stupid. I am saying if a number is the best at Pinnacle, then buyer beware. If the example above were -133/+125 at Pinnacle and -130/+120 everywhere else, I would have to feel extraordinarily strong about that play to hit the dog. Even when I do feel strong I usually pass in those situations. Helps in the long run.
