I placed a wager last night on Utah in the first half. Woke up this morning to find no money in my account. Talked to customer service at olympic sports and they told me I wagered on UNLV. After listening to the play back this morning I clearly said utah in the first half but the read back they gave was unlv. I guess at 11:40 pm I was not paying full attention.
Olympic called it no bet at returned my 338 dollars. Is this the norm. I know I didn't listen to the read back right last night(my error!) but should they owe me the win?? I am not sure of the norm because I have never had this happen before

I think since you "SAID" Utah and they have that on tape they should pay you..That to me is a clear cut case of there clerks not understanding...I LOVE Oly but that is my only beef with them ..There clerks are extremely hard to udnerstand. But I never call the call center there anymore

Is there anyone here that can help me? Does the prescription help mediate with olympic? The customer service guy made it seem like he was doing me a favor

If you said Utah, and the readback was UNLV and you confirmed the readback, I think cancelling the bet was fair. Had UNVL won, and utah lost, I'm sure they ouwld have let you keep the winnings. And since UNVl lost but UTah won, you don't win, but you don't lose. It's upsetting, but since you did confirm the wager, you hvae to share in some of the responsibility.

Tough call.....I would think that the book should credit your account simply because their was an error on their end. Hopefully in the spirit of good C/S they pay you.

Since you confirmed the read back, I think you're lucky they gave you anything back.
Forget about it, move on, and be more careful.

this is a case of 2 wrongs make a no action.

you were wrong by confirming the wrong side.

they were wrong by reading back the wrong side.

the only fair answer is to call the whole thing off.

this is why I agree he should be paid in full He said UTAH and they have that on tape therefore that should, IMO override the read back mistake of there clerk

but hannover has a point also but the only thing I have against that is that there clerks are extremely hard to understand at least when I called a few monts ago they where...so maybe since both teams had a U starting there team name they sounded a little the same???

I think he should be paid though

I believe he should be paid in full if he clearly said Utah. But for the clerk's own error, he would have certainly had Utah and would have won. He should not be penalized for the cler's error, the book should bear responsibility for the cler's error. If he had mistakenly in his mind) said UNLV, he would not have had the bet cancelled, it would have lost. The books should pat for their clear errors.

I think we can all agree the final readback is the most important part of the call. it's like checking your ticket before you leave the window at the racetrack. These situations leave the book at a no win situation. If UNLV covers the player is'nt going to call and tell the book to take out his winnings. If Utah covers the player will put in a claim.
Personaly if the customer has been with me for awhile and this has never happened before I pay him, with the understanding it will be the last time
