Question about providing Books with Drivers' License

I have always played with books that don't require this, and I'm not really thrilled about doing it. Question is, what, if any info can I leave off? i.e. DL #
Is there any way around it?

maybe try asking the book that is wanting it (they might let you block out dl # and ss#), but the main reason is to protect from charge backs...

not that it really helps all that much

Hell yes there's a solution. Tell them you'll fax them a copy, then make a photocopy of your ass and send that instead, and do business with another book who respects your privacy.

I would not like this if it was required. I have never been asked for this.

I think the Aussie books require the dl for a payout due to their regs...I provided it, but wasn't pleased about it either...

I have often been asked for this, I think it is more associated if you use credit card for deposits.........

What exactly are you afraid of? Not exactly a risky proposition, your DL# won't get anyone a credit report, nor allow someone to open up credit related accounts unless there is a corrupt employee involved, which is a risk no matter what you do give them. I agree a utility bill should be sufficient, but I suppose hard for out of the country people to get much proof from those.

I like your style!!! Luckily I've never been asked for this information and if they did, I would play at another book. I'm keeping my fingers crossed since I'm sure there will be a day when I sign up with a book without this requirement then ask for a cashout and they require all sorts of ID.

Fire Bad- I did post up cash via Neteller. I'm not sure what you mean.

WildBill- You've seen what books and touts do with our phone numbers and addresses, I would like to keep as much of my personal private as possible. I think most will agree.

Thank you for everyone's replies. I think I've found a solution.

partyboy- As soon as they ask for a copy of the drivers license, scratch them off your list of books to open up an account with. They don't need it and it serves no purpose.

Partyboy and others--The reason that I don't use PrePaid ATM is that they want a copy of driver's liscense. (They won't take a utility bill).

It makes me very nervous with a social security number. I would say NO!

I would never give them an SS#, if it shows on your DL then black that out. I think they should accept that. I still just don't think your DL# proves much other than you live in the state that you say you do. If they don't ask for a copy of it they probably don't even have a way to see if it is really your number as it is. SS# are the keys to the kingdom, most things you can do with a DL# when you aren't in the state of issue is check a database to see if the number is consistent with numbers used in that state. If you are in that state they can reference your driving record, but not much else. In Nevada and I would guess many other states personal information on your license is subject to heavy privacy standards.

That's something(submitting a copy of my DL) I always avoided when it comes to choosing a book, too. I think this is something Royal added when they took over GA. I can't really blame them, it probably cut down on thee number of people with multiple accounts looking for more bonus money. I presented Tim with another type of photo ID, and he had no problem accepting that. I guess when I read "valid ID" I assumed they needed a valid DL. Once I provided them with the ID, I got my withdrawal within 10 minutes.

I agree with partyboy. I think the main reason books ask for id is to prevent people from using multiple identities to get extra bonus money.

Cash Western Union is what I was referring too partyboy. It's easier and never any faxing or emailing.
