i have on rare occasions given a book my phone number. the more i read on harassing calls, cold call etc. i am never going to give a real number. if they need to contact me they can email.

is there a legit reason to give a book your number? can they do anthing if you give a fictious one?

I guess there is always a chance that your book could call you in case of "emergency".

But I've never got a call from my sportsbook.

However, I've received calls from Neteller and Western Union in order to confirm phone #, address, etc.

Anyway, some books do require a phone #. But do they require a legit phone #? I really don't know.

I give the correct phone number.Don't want to give anybody a bullshit reason not to pay me because I gave false information.

I never give a correct number. Within a year or two your number will be sold more times than a Bangkok whore. They have my email address and P.O. Box. Any "emergency" communication should be in writing anyway.

I guess it's to avoid incidents like the " My wager got deleted and the book informed me way too late".
Sometimes books need to contact us in order to avoid future problems, I've never had a problem giving my mobile phone #, and i have avoided a couple of misunderstandings
