anyone of you guys got a clue on this one?

I am looking for a dialer application to place calls via my pc., you know with speakers and microphone substituting the telephone device, but all i ve come across are some internet to phone programs where you get a calling card or pay them in some way and place calls over the internet, i don't want that, i just want a simple dialer to substitute the phone, anyone got any ideas?

thanks in advance jack.

btw, from the techie front too, i spent the better part of the past two days trying to disinfect my hard drive from a horrible virus (a worm) which used up 100% of my cpu resources and, from what i found out later on, used my pc to send spam mail to others and even inform its makers of its progress via irc, gaobor or something it was called. It even automatically shut down any antivirus window or reg edit command, gladly i came across avast free antivirus which did the job alright (well i had to do a bit of tweaking in the registry myself to get rid of the piece of shit too). On a more promising note i recently switched to the motzilla browser and i am so glad i did, it's got so many good features i cant believe i ve been using the crammy explorer for so long, you can do tab browsing (a huge advantage not having to switch between windows and grouping together tabs with the same topic of interest) and you can even bookmark groups of tabs, the address line is a google search bar - or any other search engine you choose - too which makes things a whole lot easier, there's also a great feature i ve been looking for a long time (see a previous post) of getting automatic notifications whenever a webpage updates, plus a whole lot more.

After the crappy sub par media player, another microsoft piece of shit down the cyber drain for me, way to go.

Jack, you might try searching at MajorGeeks. I haven't used a dialer in a while myself; I am just patiently waiting for broadband to find its way into the dark recessess of my area so that I can start using Vonage.
