Well, now Nebraska is done. This hillbilly turns down 2.5 million. This really illustrates just how shitty this program is becoming even after a 9-3 season. These clowns are totally inept. Nutt is also a average coach. They need to hire Mike Leach. He would instantaneously improve that shitty offense and would be able to recruit in Texas. Jesus Christ, why don't these jackasses hire me as Athletic Director.

Pederson(AD) is making him self look like a complete idiot. This ass is doing more to ruin this program than any coach could.

Nebraska fans ruined the program, these whining farmers got what they deserved. I hope they go 0-12.

Don't think Leach and his drinking habits would play well in Lincoln!

And I have always maintained that you never fire a coach unless you have a better one lined up. I assumed when Solich was canned, they had a better one signed, sealed, and delivered. TTinCo is right, this AD is an idiot!

Its great to be a HAWKEYE!!

The continued demise of the Cornhuskers can only help the HAWKS in gaining a few recruits out of the Husker state.

Nutt would be under much more pressure, and have the same obstacle(must recruit 25 per yr/100 man roster) that he already has at Ark, both states(as w/KSU in Kansas) are talent deficient..it is unrealistic to think that Nebraska can stay on par with the Fla schools, or Texas, or USC, or LSU, or Ohio State in today's NCAA Football..there simply isn't enough in-state base to build from in my opinion.

Dr.Tom built them and had them at the zenith at a time when only a few teams were on National TV games, cable's proliferation has negated much of this, Nebraska will always be at least 9-3, but to expect 1 and 2 loss seasons at an 85% clip is unrealistic for future coaches there.

Parity and TV have brought about more players staying in-state(notice Notre Dame's drought with Texas and Cali players) or PSU' former raids to the Midwest and Seaboard..in today's game it requires a real salesmean when at a school in an unpopulated state(an exemption:OU which has good in-state albeit average quantity, OU due to proximity is actually as close to Dallas and North Texas players as is Austin, besides players see OU as a Dallas team..Red River voictors yearly).

This isn't Georegtown & UConn Hoops, where it requires only 5 to 7 ringers total from all four classes, it's football, and that requires 25 new top-flight players per fall to keep continuity.

I'm sure this ass is sweating right now....he looks like a complete idiot, and even the big boosters(Cook) are confused.

He better pull off a miracle, and even if he does, his days may still be numbered.

Chalk up another one....Zimmer turns down NU offer and will remain will the Cowboys.

The lynch mob in Lincoln has to have Pederson's office surrounded at this point.

Why in the hell do they want Houston Nutt??????

Don't the players like Pelini? They put forth a pretty good effort against Michigan St. Nebraska ran for 232 yards and held Michigan St to 173 total yards.

I'd give Pelini an opportunity, (and save about 2 million dollars.) If Pelini doesn't work out go hard for Spurier next year.

If you want a "bonus whore" go after Glen Mason. He`d sell his soul for 2.5mil & a big time program, albeit one in decline.

At least one person close to the situation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said California Coach Jeff Tedford and Mississippi Coach David Cutcliffe could be next up. Turner Gill, NU's quarterbacks coach, is expected to be interviewed Wednesday or Thursday, while Huskers Defensive Coordinator Bo Pelini, as of Monday night, hadn't been scheduled for his interview with Pederson.

This is pathetic....

As with other aspects of a job change, location and satisfying the family is a concern. One of the reasons put forth for Spurrier`s non interest was the thought of spending winters in Neb. rather than sunny Fl. w/it`s many golf courses. If that is the case then maybe Tedford may see it that way too. Now Cutcliffe on the other hand being used to Oxford, Miss., could view Lincoln as a lateral move. One is as dismal as the other! You aren`t close to anything of interest at either place. In fact you can`t even get there you have to start somewhere else. It`s like would you rather be shot or stabbed?
