I've been betting offshore for a few years now and never had this happen to me.

The Carolina Hurricanes have been an under monster over the last month. The total has only hit 5 twice in their last 16 games.

It's a trend I've been hesitant to hop on, because I was afriad they'd hang a snowman the night I did. Tonight, however, looked great with St. Louis coming in after playing a tough 1-1 tie the night before and the Hurricanes scoring 2 goals in their last 3 games.

Anyway, I go to Gameday (the only book I have money in) and bet 2 units. I go to the game, which the Canes win 2-0, drive home thinking I'm a winner and, lo and behold, I bet the over!

Totally my fault. I print records just in case the book messes up, and, sure enough, I bet the over. How I missed it, not once but twice, I'll never understand.

I've never made the wrong bet before, and it would have been nice if it had worked in my favor rather than against me. Live and learn I guess.

Just had to vent. Not the worst thing in the world, but it's tough enough picking winners without shooting yourself in the foot.

Seriously though, tough break. Has happened to all of us at one time or another. You just need to come back tomorrow with a winner...
