How do you guys keep records of your plays....i would love some kind of software where I could enter my play...the odds I took...& the book i placed it at. The software could then show me reports of how I am doing with each book etc & keep records.

I suppose others simply use Microsft Excel to keep track of their bets. I am not very good with Excel.

Bookie management software?

Does anyone have any suggestion on software one could use to do this kind of stuff...If not how do you orgamize your Excel spreadsheet to be most effective in this venture?

I did it with Excel and macros, but I'm planning to use Access, Forms and it's crappy VBA to make something more powerful for the new year

I have been try to get the answer to this question for a while now. Apparently it is a closely guarded secret no one wants to spill the bean. Lander, do you know what movie I am in process of watching? Lawrence of Arabia. Colonialism is rampant still today but the powers have found new way to extract the monies.

Can someone add an attachment and share with the rest of us simple folks what they have created with excel. Is anyone so generous as to do this without wanting monies?

I use Excel. I have a column for each book and a row for each day. I start a new sheet every month. I keep a separate Excel sheet tracking each of my NBA totals plays, with columns for wins, losses, amounts, varience of actual score from spread & varience of actual score from my calculations.

I'm sure Excel could be improved upon.....but if Monty Hall came by I would NOT trade Excel for "what's behind door number 2"

Programmers that gamble don't like sharing their resources... but I purchased one from a geek some months ago. It's Excel based, but I can't complain.

This is a tout site (this guy posted here last year), but this Excel program is free, so I think it's OK to post this link?

Just downloaded to check what kind of program it is. Looks good, but I have to read the instructions and use it for a while before the final judgement.

There's software out there called Let-It-Ride that I used for some time... Site was addictware.com or something similar. It worked pretty well for straight bets, teasers and parlays, but if you wanted to do any kind of exotic bet, it couldn't handle it. It also wasn't the most stable -- there'd be many times that it would screw up and I'd have to reenter many of my wagers.

If someone lets me know how to attach a file, I'll upload mine.

Here's the one I did:

http://www.study-buddies.com/wagerdb.xls

It sorts by month, date, sport, bet-type, sportsbook used, and system used.

It lists your total # of wagers, wins, losses, pushes, pending, net profit, and win% for those categories that you can sort by.

It lists your bankroll in multiple books, your pending bankroll, and your total bankroll.

To input a wager you put in the date, sport, increment (game-side, game-total, 1H-total, etc...), who you bet on, the spread, the moneyline, their opponent, your wager, the result, the book used, and the system used. When you mark it as a Win or a Loss, it color codes and and calculates your net loss or profit for that bet.

I spent a lot of time getting it how I want it, but it could always use improvements. I welcome anyone to edit it how they want and let us know what you added/modified and then re-post it somewhere.

Savant:

I use Excel with columns for date, team plus line or total, units, wager amount, win or loss, and running total of bankroll. I use a separate sheet for each sport starting at the beginning of each season.
