Oh brother, I thought I was watching the Rubber Room.

That little one stuck in the 50's was definately EveryGamblersWetDream.

The fat biker was Big Lou.

The Adam Sandler clone has to be Dicky.

The crazy nerd with the fro and the freaky dance moves was most likely Rickass.

since ehorsex had no racing tonight I watched network TV for the first time in 6 months. anyway I Wathced this show.

WOW that was pretty cool, I was nervous watching it, like nervous on the inside on what would happen.

plus a few laughs at a few of the dorks.

bEst part was the highlights from next week that looked pretty good.

That is strange TV but it is gripping in a way, gets to you watching it. I can see the appeal to some % of the population.

The majority of network TV that I watch these days tends to be reality TV. Scriped dramas/comedies too often suffer from lazy writers syndrome.

I like Larisa much better than Melana. Funny ass group of guys. As in the 1st series, they had a back-up in case the girl decided to split.

Here is a summary of the show for those of you who missed it.

Average Joe 2: Abnormal Personalities and Another Beauty Queen
by Paris Cosby, with Zach Cohen -- 01/02/2004

It’s time for the second edition of Average Joe. Paris is back with her box of crayons, but this time she has a sidekick – Zach from the first edition. We meet the new beauty queen and the guys, who have, as Zach describes them, more personalities that are “abnormal.” Let’s see what these two have to say about the first episode.

Oh, Melana! Wait, it's not Melana. It sounds like Melana, it looks like Melana, but it has dark hair and paints something other than its face. Oh, it's Larissa! Melana has relinquished her crown and passed the sash and tiara over to the reigning Miss Average Joe, Larissa.

As you'll remember from Average Joe 1, I wasn't all that nice to Melana and I took all her crayons away. This time I'm giving Larissa a full box to start the show. Each week we'll see if she gets to keep those treasures or if she loses them for being nasty like Melana did. Along the way, Zach Cohen (from the first series – you can see my full interview with him here) will be offering his opinion on the show and the characters. If he plays nice, I may let him take a crayon or two for himself as well. Or (if he so chooses) to put back in Larissa’s pack. Or, I could just give him a dozen eggs to fire at will. That would be more fun, wouldn't it? That's what we'll do. Alright, I've got my crayon-stealing hat on and Zach's loaded up and ready to go. On with the show...

The beginning of this show is way too much like the first series – right down to Larissa's reaction at the house. Does the beauty queen training involve "How to Be Surprised 101"? Maybe it does. I don't know what to think of this new girl. Zach seems to like her though.

"I think she has more of an edge than Melana did – more of a tough side, I like that in her."

I'm going to reserve judgment on Larissa for a few more weeks. She isn't annoying me too much tonight and I'll let her keep her box of crayons for now.

As for the guys, oh my, my, my. I'm not sure what to make of this group! I personally would like a dart gun for David. And Zach might want to up his dozen eggs – I'm not sure it'll be enough. Do you notice any difference between Average Joe 1 and 2, Zach?

"We had more personalities that were normal, they have more that are abnormal. I think people will get annoyed with these guys."

You won't get any argument from me there! I was ready to shoot David and gag Matt. I think there are a few there that are worth taking a look at though.

First of all, I really like Mike. I think he's cute, although his obsessive cleaning would certainly get on my nerves really fast! I also really like Brian G. I think he's definitely got some cuteness to him and, although he may be dorky (think of the poem he wrote), I think he has potential. Fredo is another one I like. I like a man who knows how to work hard and likes to get dirty doing it!

Tim reminds me of Barney Rubble but I like him in a Jerry (AJ1) sort of way. He's there, he's okay looking, he's quiet. I hope he opens up and uses that fiery red hair of his before he fades away like Jerry did. I like Donato too. He seems really confident and I love his name! And the chef is fun! He really made me want to make some ribs when he was cooking those suckers on the grill. Tony is someone who stands out as well but I just can't get a good feel for him yet. He seems open and honest but there's something about him that I don't like and I'm not sure what it is.

Who do you think has a shot, Zach?

"There were two guys I thought might have a shot – the weird looking bald guy who has no sweat glands and the guy they had on the show that tried to be as big a dick as me but failed miserably. He lost my vote when he read that gay poem to her."

Translation: Tony and Brian G.

Do you still have all your eggs, Zach? You haven't used one on David yet? Give me the damn carton, I'll use one myself! (Picture Zach and me sitting in the bushes spying. I sneak in and steal art supplies while he fires egg bombs on unsuspecting contestants.)

Alright, back to business. I thought Larissa's eliminations were well done tonight with the exception of David not being cut because he alone could really make me change the channel. Maybe if we could mix him and Tareq from AJ1 we could come up with a suitable and stable personality. I really can't stand David without some sort of tranquilizer sticking out of his neck. Maybe next week, a host will show up and sedate him for a while so everyone can have a rest from his manic behavior.

I did have one comment from a reader that I wanted to share. He thought that Larissa should have lost some crayons for cutting Chris but earned them back "for keeping delusional Matt from having the opportunity to go ‘all Brad’ on us." How true is that statement? I don't think I could have lived through that. Brad was enough, we don't need a Brad 2.

At any rate, a good start to Average Joe 2, but not as good as the original. For now, Larissa still has all her crayons. How are you on eggs, Zach?

"Eleven... Eleven???"

Yeah, sorry, I couldn't help myself.

We'll see you back next week for more fun in the bushes!

Paris Cosby is a Canadian mother of three. You can send her fan mail, hate mail, or junk mail at pariscosby@hotmail.com. Zach Cohen, of Average Joe 1 fame, still thinks the best of the average isn't good enough and would love to get on this show just to mess with these guys. Any eggs you would like to throw his way can be directed to zachtcohen@hotmail.com.
