Sportsbook hangs a prop bet.

Total Rushing Attempts By Jerod Void: Purdue(Under 27.5)

Line should have been 21.5

Wager on under 27.5 is made 1.5 hours before gametime. Wager is cancelled 2 hours after start time. Void had 15 total carries in the game. He averages right at 19.59 carries per game. Last 4 games he carried 31, 23, 34, & 21 times.

What is your opinion?

i think the two things to look at are when the bet was cancelled (2 hours after start of event), and whether or not there were other books with a similar prop

either way, i wouldn't think the player was trying to get over on the book, especially with the knowledge that two of the previous four games went over both the correct and incorrect number

Who is to say the punter even realized the number on the prop was bad? Props are not all over like game lines, alot of books I am sure didn`t even offer this...And the bet was canceled very deep into the game...Then you have the issue of whether the bet would have been canceled at all "if" the back would have had less carries....Book error, that wasn`t corrected til that late? They should pay!

I had something like that this week only it was a different prop I call'd the book and confirmed the number was right and then bet it if in question call and ask that way you have a leg to stand on when they pull this BS I even got a email from them confirming our conversation

THIS IS SO FUNNY IF THE PLAYER HAD LOST HIS BET WE WOULDNT EVEN BE HERE TALKING ABOUT IT HIS MONEY IS GONE.BUT SINCE THE SPORTSBOOK IS FIGHTING IT THE PLAYER IS A WISE GUY TAKING A SHOT F-CK THEM PAY THE PLAYER AND HIRE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE BUSINESS AND LIVE WITH THERE MISTAKES.

bet should stand....two hours after is 'unethical'...cancellation before game started would have been acceptable....would they have cancelled if it was a loss?

You are missing more than that.

Even if this bet was cancelled BEFORE the game went off, it should stand!!

IT IS A PROP...........and a PROP that is very close to what alot of other shops were using at that!!

This is a non-issue unless there is more to the story than is being released here.

THIS BET STANDS. PERIOD!!

General,

This is so blatantly obvious, I think you owe players the name of the book. I would never play at a book with this type of mentality running the operation.

I will allow the book time to review and make final decision before I even consider slinging their name in the mud. I hope they give me the courtesy of their side of the story.

The bet should stand imo because the book had lots of time to cancel before the game began. Are they really trying to say they have linesmen that don't review each line at least once in the last hour and a half before each game? If they are that slow they should not be in the bookmaking business, or at least they should only offer bets they can track. Incompetence should be penalized, not rewarded, and in this case the incompetence was on the part of the book.

In my opinion the play should stand. I know hind site is 20/20 but the player in question only had 15 attempts in the whole game. By half time you would be able to notice that J.Void was not going to get the carries,let alone the proper line.Was the player taking a shot at the book? Who knows? Does the book owe at least...at least, a Bonus Play for the amount that was taken on the bet? HELL YES!!!!!!
