HINT:

You do not have him listed.

ps- Dan Gable would be a strong contender though.

Very good.

All individuals with great lore in the state of Iowa.

Fish,
Do you think Tom Brand was better than Gable? Gable went 170-some matches without giving up a point

. The Brands are tough tough men, but I'd have to give the nod to Gable.

What about that Cael wrestler? (forget his last name). He won the ESPN athlete of the year award not too long ago.

Then there's always coach Fox

Nile Kinnick would have been an all time great.
Don Nelson, when he was an All American said there was a freshman, when they could not play with the upperclass men , they could not stop. He never played with the Hawks though. Connie Hawkins. He could easily hold two basketballs in with out palming them. I would vote though for Gable and Cael Sanderson, with Kinnick. Too tough to call.

I would throw KINNICK, GABLE and ????? into a hat has the best athletes ever from Iowa.

Watch Espn classic. They have great shows on past Hawkeyes. Nile Kinninck was a Heisman who was killed in WWII. I had the privilege of throwing up on the grass seats of the stadium. Fishhead was a part of that fiasco. Long Story.

Kyhawk- Great choices sirrrrrr!

Lander- Gable's accomplishments in the Olympics and as a coach set him apart from Brands.

In the 1972 Olympics Gable won the Gold Medal.......and did so by not allowing a single point the entire time!

Fishhead will say it was a legend from his area. Played backup at Iowa State. Hit some bombs playing baseball there too. Can't remember his name.

Nobody yet has guessed my third representation to go along with KINNICK and GABLE.

I almost forgot. Chuck Long was awesome in College. The closest voting in the Heisman history vs one of the all time college greats, Bo Jackcon.

Running back for Chiefs. Ed Podolak was all Hawkeyes had for a few years.
