I just switched browsers from Internet Explorer 6.0 to Mozilla 1.5 and I'm kicking myself for not having done it a long time ago. The main reason is that on Mozilla you can bookmark a whole group of webpages so with one click you can have all your sportsbooks plus Rx come up without having to open them all separately. Mozilla also screens annoying popups which can be useful for <ahem> porn surfing, for example.

Am I right about Mozilla or is it just that I haven't figured out how to do these things on Explorer? Any comments?

OK Dante I'll try it but I hope it brings up multiple home pages with a SINGLE click b/c for me that's the most important. One thing's for sure ..Internet Explorer is history. Message to Bill Gates -- you stink!

Slash, the biggest advantage is the ability to open multiple windows within one Explorer. I have all my books open in one Explorer. You can also set up Groups of windows. For example, when I open the MyIE2 up, I select a group I call BET GROUP. When I click on this, it opens all of the windows in the group automatically (17 in my case).
Another thing I find useful is the enahnced mouse controls, I can refresh windows and other tasks with various mouse movements rather than clicking buttons at the top of the page.

I have Mozilla firebird and it rocks!

I can even set a timer to have pages refresh automatically which really helps with busy forums or non-refreshing scoreboards. I haven't seen an annoying pop-up in weeks.

It's great.

I'm confused DP but if you have Mozilla, then why are you looking for another browser? I'm currently using MyIE2.

EGD,

I'm not looking for another browser. I asked the question on the thread title because I find it hard to believe that such a popular and well-known browser as IE would have such limitations. I figured it was more likely that I missed something and I was hoping someone would point out what that was. But it is now looking like I didn't miss anything and that Mozilla is truly superior. In any case, thanks for all the info. everyone.

Dante,

I tried Opera but the thick ad bar at the top annoys me and I am not willing to pay to get rid of it, so I'm sticking with Mozilla. Thanks anyway for the tip.

yeah, I actually found opera to be faster than netcaptor, but there was something about opera I didn't like and my dad had paid for netcaptor, so I stuck with it. It's been a while since I tried finding another browser...Maybe I'll give Mozilla and Opera another try to see if they've improved.

Another advantage of Mozilla over IE:

It seems it remembers ALL passwords on forms and it leaves the info there so you don't have to double click to get it to appear, so you save a double click on each sportsbook.

Some passwords like on Canbet, for example, don't get saved on IE probably because Billy Gates thinks he's smarter than his users so his paternal influence protects users from themselves by allowing sites to override the pw save feature on the user's IE. Mozilla assumes that every adult human being is autonomous and can take care of himself, so the user always has the option to save a password on his own machine if he wants to.

The implications for books like Hollywood, PanAm, and IIS, where you have to type your password before each wager, are that you save all those keystrokes too. That helps people like me who were dumb enough to choose passwords that have you jumping all over the keyboard like a9c1l4z9
