Can anyone give me a heads up on Party Poker. I have been playing in the play money section for too long. I play a lot in local games, and really wanted to know if its on the up and up? I want to know about ease of use, ie deposit methods, withdraws, what not? I see the echeck system, but I'm a little leery of giving my bank # and routing info. How about payouts, quickneess, etc...I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I figure there are a bunch of people on here who could answer them. Thanks Vaulted

Very very good site!

Arguably the top poker site on the net.

Currently offering a 20% bonus.

- Good site and very good for beginners (more difficult competition at other sites).

- Customer service is not good but you should rarely if ever need them. I've played there for a while and used customer service a handful of times.

- Best to use NETeller with them if you already have an account. I've heard nothing bad about IGN Pay (sp?) but use NETeller if possible since it's a known entity.

- Cashout speed generally cannot compare to sportsbooks. Cashouts range from 1 hour to 48 hours via NETeller. Party gives a guideline of 48 hours to "approve" a cashout at which point you should add the additional time it takes your cashout method to reach you (15 min for NETeller and additional time for other methods). (Check out the cashier portion of their website. From what I can tell, all the information there is accurate.)

- As far as the site being on the up and up, I think Party management is probably legit. Collusion is the only thing you should be somewhat concerned about. I've seen a few instances of it but overall it is not problem.

- There are places with better software and better service but for the average player Party offers the best combination of all.

BTW, check their site for bonus rules. It is based on the number of raked hands and it ranges from 5-10x the bonus amount. The last one was 7x. Depending on the limits you play you can expect Party to rake approximately 40 hands an hour probably more if you are playing the microlimits.

Just don't expect to ever get into a one table satelite. I think they are regretting ever having them because they now make them impossible to get into. No waiting list and the list of tables doesn't update often, so basically you just have to be damn lucky to get a spot. Ridiculous, if you are going to offer something make it something I don't wait an hour on and have no success entering.

Bill, the 1 table tournaments are a problem but I never have to wait more than a couple of minutes to get onto a table. Do you?

I generally play the larger 1 table tourneys (which are easier to get on) but I just tried to get onto a $10 NL (probably the most popular and it took 1 minute and 3 tries) and the $5 NL took 2 minutes and 2 tries. What tables are you trying to get on that are "impossible" and feel "dam lucky to get a spot"?

The 30 and 50 NL tables are a nightmare. The 100 tables are a little easier to get into, but I prefer the action at the lower limits. Tonight I got onto a 30 table after I don't know how many tries, but 27 minutes. After getting eliminated in fourth, I couldn't get back on in 20 minutes and gave up. This happens every night during the 7-9pm PST slots, about the only times I really care to play. It is so annoying I rarely go on to play anymore, often if I do I get into the regular 100 NL game and just take a shot here or there to get in the one table, but usually never get in one.

30 and 50 are tough but those are the 1 tables that I play as well and I've NEVER had to wait more than a few mintutes to get on (9pm-12am EST). 27 minutes seems a bit extreme.

Still wouldn't you agree that a waiting list would be preferrable to the dogfight and luck method they have now? Its not a big deal to me though, I rarely play there anymore and have taken out my funds to a bare minimum. Still it is one way that having more players than ever has actually hurt.

Bill-

BTW, how are you doing in those tournaments? I'm mostly a ring game player but I dabble in the tourneys as well.

The only reason I ask is that if you are decent in those 1 tables you may want to give the Weekend Special $200 multis a try. I usually attempt to win an entry via the 1 table satellites for $26 and have like a 50% hit rate for 1st (entry into the $200 tournament) and 2nd ($25, basically a refund of your entry fee) and I'm not a very good NL player.

Totally agree with the waitlist issue. I hear that is one of the fixes that they are working on.

Did you take out your funds for a reason that I should know as a player at the site?

The site is fine, no reason to be worried about my withdrawl. It was just I had some success playing there and built up a respectable roll, but when I am only playing maybe 2 or 3 one tables a month and an occasion ring game there is just no point in keeping much money there. I also dabble in the multi-table games. I don't particularly like the limit ring games as it is impossible to play the same guy for more than a couple of rounds, people are constantly jumping with so many games to choose from. The consistency is terrible, all it becomes is who plays the best starters. Good for those that want to profit a lot, but I just play recreationally and like to get some "play" involved. The tourneys and the NL ring games are better, you do get some consistency in terms of who you are spotting up against.

Most people play 2 tables at a time when playing tight. At low limits you can get between 1.2 ($2/4)and 1.5 ($1/2) raked hands per minute with two tables.

The good thing about the tables filling in so fast is that it eliminates the likelyhood of collusion...

I usually play later at night but dont ususally have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for the 5 or 10$ tourneys...
