Over the past 2 weeks I have bet on 15 2nd half lines whether it be a side or total and have yet to lose going 15-0. I had never bet 2nd half lines previously. Has anyone else had the same success on 2nd half lines or advice as it seems like these lines are always way off.

Kojak,

The reason halftime #'s are so weak is becasue Spiro makes bad #'s on purpose and everyone copies him, Spiro in turn bets huge money against his own bad halftime numbers.

Railbird,

Thanks for information. It seems like the 2nd half lines are great for hedging and doubling up your money on a game. Best of luck.

Kojak,

While I should have hedged my Lamar +1850 Moneyline play today, with a bet on Hawaii, imo, too many people throw away good plays on whole games with bad halftime bets. I do very well betting NFL routs under in the 2nd half, and betting opposite of what happend the 1st half on totals on televised nba games. For example Patriot total should have been 14 under -130 today instead of 17 under -125. Eagles should have been 7 dog 30 instead of -3 in tonights late game.

Railbird, I agree as I had Redskins for game but got money back on halftime betting Eagles. These lines are way off and the best bets are betting totals going the opposite of first half.

You're right, some of the 2nd half lines seem like gifts. But who knows. I'm sure the books know what they're doing...right!?!?

With totals, I don't think you can always bet the opposite of the 1st half. It depends on the sport, it depends on the game situation. For example, the Kent and St Bonny game. They scored 64 in the 1st half, o/u for the 2nd half was 76.

Kent was winning 39-25 @ half, and St Bonny didn't have their best player due to suspension. Given this info, I figured that A) St Bonny didn't have enough offense to score lots of points and stage a rally, and B) Kent would maintain a double-digit lead, so I wouldn't have to worry about 13 fouls in the final 2 minutes. Sure enough, they only scored 56 points in the 2nd half. Kent won by 28 points.

That is a MAJOR factor when you bet the 2nd half in college hoops. How many points/fouls do you expect in the final 2 minute?

Also a factor in the NBA, but not as much. With the 24-second shot-clock, teams aren't forced to foul as often.

Forgot to mention...the #1 problem with betting 2nd half lines???????

It forces you to sit in front of a computer/TV all day/night long!

Unless you've been monitoring the game(s), betting on the 2nd half could be risky. Imagine if you bet on Kentucky for the 2nd half, only to find out that Fitch and Hawkins have three fouls each.

monkey never bet a halftime you cant watch unless its a 20 + underdog that is down 20 or more at half already in coll hoop , then you take the dog like +37 for whole game and they win like 77%.
