how do books come up with halftime lines? i have seen what i consider true opinions in some shops during pro hoop halfs. Are these true opinions or are they trying to cover themselves from the action they took on the game?

Cris and Oly are usually the first ones up.I know they make their own halftime lines.Lot of factors go into coming up with a number.I don't think they try to cover themselves. The treat the second half as a totally seperate proposition. The goal is to come up with a number that gets 2 way action.

Most good, or lets say professional linemakers have a formula, or at least an automatic number, they can use in just about any situation. As far as trying to use a number that covers one sided action on the game itself, I believe that would be foolish. The 2nd half is a separate bet, and considered a separate chart. Maybe some of the real linesmen who post here will shed some light on the subject. I am far from an expert.

i agree with Wil, most have a formula who don't just clone and then the linesman can deviate that number slightly as he sees fit to gather equal action.
