If you were a quarterback, that isn't your decision to make. That's why teams have coaches.

I would like to have the trust of the coach incase I saw something he did not so I could change it up at the line

Peyton Manning makes me a nervous wreck at the line, changing calls, assignments, etc...

but he gets results....

i would estimate he changes over half the plays that Dungey calls.......god knows, someone would have to...

Jim Kelly would occasionally call his own plays (mostly in the no-huddle) ...

one time he called the same play 4 straight times, so Levy called a timeout to see what the heck was wrong with Kelly ..

turns out he had a concusion and nobody knew .. lol

Paul Brown original coach and owner of the old Cleveland Browns was the first coach to call all plays from the sidelines. Brown used to shuttle a pair of linemen (guards) in and out with the play he wanted his QB. to call. The Browns had tremendous success in the late 40's and most of the 50's uneder Paul Brown.

wil.
