One thing about these early bowl games I've noticed over the years, is that coaches play a more wide open kind of game. We have almost 60 teams playing in bowls, so a good 70% are more or less mediocre. Why not open the offense, they are not trying to maintain national rankings, or perfect records. Most coaches want to get a win for their fans, and players. I'm not suprized by any kind of rolling of dice in these games. You almost have to try and handicap it in, if thats possible. Just my opinion.

Guess I am killing myself now but I got BG for the second half -4. I do not like how they play but I hope they come out fired up. To me the first drive of the second half will decide this game. NW gets the ball and let us see how the BG def handles their rushing plays. What I do not get is that BG had some good plays taking the ball near the rz and then they turned it over. Why not trying to get some rushing plays when you are near the rz.

I hear the cliche this time of year in both coolege and pros..."They have nothing to lose so why not go for it".. referring to a minor bowl game or a pro team out of running for play-offs and how they should be almost reckless in their play-calling because of it.
I hate that attitude and reasoning! If your playing the f@#%in game then play the way it gives you the best chance to win or get out of football coaching (and broadcasting for that matter).

I tell you one thing. When i was younger i used to play soccer in the highest German youth league and our soccer leagues are way different than your leagues (promotion and relegation etc.). we did not care if it was a friendly game or a league game. We always wanted to win and that was the attitude of our coach as well as of the players. So how can someone who is playing in college or pro sports even think he is playing in a minor bowl game or my season is over so simply forgett about it. there are people out there watching this shit and paying for the tickets. so give your best. they are not playing for the audience they are playing for their team.
