Question about Horses?

Does anyone actually win a lot of money betting horses over the years?

I mean I know I don't..
but then again my way of handicapping is to find the prettiest horse with the best name.. u

But I have never heard someone say..
Horses have been good to me. Or I make my money off of betting horses.

I have heard that with sports betting but not with horses. Is there some sort of secret to horse betting

Some of the guys in the horse forum do well. Betting horses is not easy, and only a small % of horse players can win over time. That said, it is possible to win, if you know what you are doing.

It seems there are fewer people that win at horses than sports or even casino games..

I was just curious..
I think I will stick to my small plays on pretty names ... usually one long shot comes in to make up for all my losses

Yes, there are sharp bettors that do quite well with the horses. A very tough game to beat, though.

Winning at horses is pretty easy back in the UK - I've done it for 12 straight years. Not sure how easy it is for US bettors on Pari-Mutuel.

I absolutely LOVE horse racing...

My family actually owned a successful race horse years ago...

However, I absolutely suck at picking winners and I rarely go home ahead...

I just love the 2 minute thrill because for me these days, that's a long time, lol...

I have beat the horses for over 30 years but it has all harness expect in Vegas when you could easily bet house q now to much of a hassle.I believe it now eassier than ever If you take advantage of rebates offshore books that dont go into the pools I believe the figure is about 1 in 100 win without rebates as many as 5 out of100 win with rebates if you know someone thatsay they do they proably dont keep records.It is a lot of work a job would be easier but no boss or commute
