Today is my anniversary and I am very proud of myself. Honestly, I did not know if I could do it, but I feel better, look better, and have been performing better in my job, my gambling, and everything else. I don't normally pat myself on the back, but this time I will!

When the fog rises, the world looks different. Not much better LOL, but more clearer.

Glad for you GD.

As far as tips, I have found I don't hang out in bars, although I did attend an X-mas party and got through that just fine. I'm enjoying my gambling a lot more and watching more games. I got a TiVo the other day and am watching lots of movies and reading some good literature. Also, treating myself to some nice meals at restaurants. Many people at work have been very supportive and there are only a few that are giving peer pressure.

7 years for me...when I first quit I use to count the days sober then the weeks sober, then months, now I only count the years.
No more looking in the rear view mirror for cop cars.
800 pound gorilla on your back is gone...it is freedom....fight your way through the boredom that comes and goes and its all good.Give yourself a chance and time...remember sombodys birthday tommorow and say thanks..it works.

keep up your good work.

gambling helps me to be sober too.

to be honest....sometimes I still want a drink.....

but....when I wake up next morning......I always happy I never took that drink.
