Hey Walk and Wil

I realize that this is unrelated but I need your help. When you guys talk about MM and you say bet in units, but when you have a Money line bet do you wager a unit to win a full unit, or do you take what you can get.

Ex your betting unit is $100.00
The money line is -135 on the rams
What I am asking is do you wager $100 or 135.00 ?

I'd say that the whole idea behind betting MLs is to actually make a value play. While betting on a live dog on the ML is a value play, laying the chalk on any favorite ML is not recommendable.

You could win your bet, but you could also lose your bet and if you lay chalk, you will need a greater percentage of winners to be able to show a profit over the long run. Don't lay chalk...

And to answer your question, when you have a betting unit, it's always to win... I think.

In the Broncos example above Den +258, a $100 bet would have won $258.

I agree. When betting on a dog ML you lay 1 unit to get a bigger comeback.(100/258)

When betting a favorite you lay a greater amount to get 1 unit back (135/100)

Again, I have to thank you. had it not been becasue of your post, I would've ended up with a losing bet as the Pack made sure to rip the fvcking Raiderz. I go back to the moment of placing the wager and I realized I was betting with my heart. For some reason I get sucked in emotional bets still, thanks God I stick to my units...

Anyway, last nite I was riding on da Raiderz ML @ +240. After your post, I grabbed da Pack -5.5 -112.(still not the best price). Thanks to you, I ended up 1 unit up, instead of having to pay 1 unit for my stubbornness.
