Before the weekend I wrote down bookiebuster's , blkjk's, and player250's plays....

I checked the standings today and behold Player250 is on top of the standings. But according to what I wrote down as his plays on Friday he should not be in 1st. So I check his plays and I see that he edited his plays as the complete opposite of Bookiebuster's plays (the guy who was in first coming into the week). Officially there is nothing wrong with his tactics, but I think what he did was a little low.

Just my humble opinion.

Madcapper,

I totally agree with you that the spirit of the contest was violated by what was done...

Not sure that we can do anything about it though...

MC, thanks for keeping an eye on things. I hope bucsfan and G. Money can see if there's anything that can be done now. I would like to think that no one would try to take advantage.

Anyone purposely going opposite and especially altering his picks to go opposite should be sent packing...This kind of lack of sportsmanship in a contest should not be tolerated... "If" this is how it unfolded then he should be booted...

Scorekeeper,

I agree wholeheartedly. That is exactly how it unfolded. I have his original picks on paper and if you check now he has the exact opposite of bookiebuster's plays. Every single play. He edited his own plays a little before the deadline.

Scum.

His choice, boo-hoo the world isn't fair.

I believe that's a "low tactic" as well but not worth bringing up. While I'm thinking about it, Im sure I could bring up some "priceless moments with an X mod here" HEHEHE (that's just the word I got from another site)

Maybe I'm an idiot here, but how does a player gain an advantage by giving the opposite picks of the pool leader in the 2nd to last week in a contest. Bookiebuster, being that he is the pool leader and has shown that he can handicap pretty well, could just as easily have gone 8-2 or 7-3 and this in turn would've knocked anyone playing his opposites out of the top 5. In addition, several other players were and still are in contention, so just playing opposites of the pool leader does nothing to stop them from taking the lead.

IMO, your complaint isn't really valid here. It WOULD be a valid complaint, however, if only 2 players were in contention, only one game was being handicapped, and it was the last week (or game) of the season. OR .... if Player250 was found to be a ghost for Bookiebuster...??? But I'm sure you guys have ways for checking that out - don't you?? Otherwise, to me this was nothing other than a strange way of playing a pool, that just luckily happened to work out for P250.

Did he do something against the rules by
changing the picks before the deadline?
If so then it's pretty clear he violated
a rule but to get on the guy for employing
his best strategy to catch up is lame.
His opponent would have been free to
edit his plays and then MATCH his pursuers
from what I'm hearing. You guys don't want
this type of end-game strategy to be used
then make sure noone can see who you pick
until after the deadline.
I bet you guys hate it when they bid $1
more then the last bidder on the "Price Is Right" too.

The guy did nothing wrong! You put in the rules that you can edit plays before the deadline and he did just taht. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree that it would see stupid to go against the leader of the competition, so the fact that he took that chance being in second place just shows that he is a big gambler. And this is gambling!

I have to give him credit for having the balls to go against the leader of the contest!

And no I do not know who this guy is! But since it wasnt against the rules, then it is fair play!

And believe me, I have been fvcked this year by rules. I posted too late by 2 minutes a pick in the baseball contest and it cost me the win and $750!! Then the "winner" didnt even offer to split the prize with me or even send me $100 for my mistake. My past post was not even really late as a matter of fact sicne i was watching the game. You know how baseball games with start late sometimes

To be honest with you, the only thing that would be unfair would be if you guys did NOT give him his prize if he wins it all

Granted he played within the rules but it just shows you what people will stoop to for a buck.

Also, dont penalize a guy who all season picked some great picks. It is not like this was a 1 week contest. He deserves to win it all IMHO

i see nothing wrong with the move either.....

i would rather depend on my own picks than trying to hope another persons picks dont work out, but he didnt break any rules...

if bookiebuster continued on his winning ways, which one expects he would, it would have basically eliminated they guy....

he caught a break....

obviously its a serious competition, or you wouldnt have been worrying about writing other player's picks down.....
and i dont say that to be a smart-ass, i jsut mean obviously people enter to win, and he followed the rules, and did what he thought was his best shot to win....

maybe a "sportsmanship" error, but no rule-breaker....

First of all. I'm sorry that some of you feel the way you do. When I first posted my picks I arbitrarily typed in all my picks planning on changing them later. Obviously, it wasn't by chance that I picked the exact opposite of Bookiebuster. He's been having a stellar contest...and I was just hoping for him to have a bad week. I was "fading" his picks. I needed to gain ground to have a shot at first and Bokkibuster had an overwhelming amount of favorites. I liked alot of the underdogs.

If Bookiebuster would have went 10-0, this would be a moot point.

Thanks for the support MD KId and others, and as far as ghosts are concerned, I'd be willing to e-mail anyone here my telephone number to verify who I am.

The games are decided on Sunday, not on Saturday. Once again, I apologize to those who think I somehow cheated.

Contest was flawed from the start anyway by making the posting deadline 10 hours before kickoff of the first game

Quack- You cry about every contest. In this one that you mention above you were the one that questioned RPM numerous times on what would happen if plays were past posted. RPM said if it's one minute past the listed time that the play wouldn't count. Then you past post and accused RPM of changing the time stamp because you had it in on time. You're a clown. Now go back to begging for a mod job. I like the story that you could bring some big time players to the RX if you are given the job.
