2 guys I grew up with. Alford as a Mr Indiana & The General as a legendary coach who brought so much to the entire state.

Looking forward to the match-up.

BTW, the turmoil is behind them. Alford needed help. He called Coach Knight and asked for advice. Coach told him to make a plan and stick with the plan. Most importantly make the players follow the plan. Alford will tell you that it was some very good advice.

Alford not the coach Iowa thought they were going to get. Very mediocre results. Better with Dr. Tom. Too bad he was forced out because of his age.

The biggest difference between the two is Knight would not let a player like Pierre Pierce on his roster after the rape charge. Alford called him the "victim" in this case.
