I also recommend "The Odds" and as well recommend "Bringing down the House", a book about the MIT blackjack count team.

I have a ton of books on Poker, craps, and other gaming titles...many same as Gambler's book club.

I am dying to get rid of themm

any one want to see the list, click here...

www.sportsgamingjournal.com/vsgbooks.htm

Ignore the prices...will be happy to rid them for more than 60% off.

Teddy,

Thats the Millman book, "The Odds; One season Three Gamblers and the Death of their Las Vegas"

I agree, a real good read, moves fast.

Allan Boston is hilarious....

all of these are available at the gamblers book club in las vegas:

the book on bookies
superbookie (las vegas hilton sportsbook & manager Art Manteris - this is out of publication, but worth searching for)
the wiseguys bible
bringing down the house (blackjack)
the man with the $100,000 breasts (daily tidbits about a group of gamblers)
no limit (bio of Bob Stupak)
fixed (BC basketball fixing)
the odds (sports betting biography)
super casino
double down
the green felt jungle (vegas history)
24/7 (behind the scenes of vegas casinos)

good luck

A real classic, don't have it myself anymore was one done in the 70s about a season in the Castaways football contest. Great stuff, but probably hard to find in print. I am sure the Vegas guys could point out the title for you. It is kinda dated and interesting to see how much things have changed since then, but a great read for the story. For poker stories read anything by or about Amarillo Slim, everyone of them are great. The book by Johnny Hale is entertaining as well. Bobby Baldwin's old book Tales out of Tulsa is good reading as well for the old-time world of poker. If you can get out to the Gamblers Book Shop in Vegas and spend an hour or two. The guys working there love gambling and within a few minutes will be asking you what you play and giving you great advice on what exactly you will want to add to your collection. If it is in print and about gambling, they probably have it. The catalog is ok, but nothing can substitute for spending a little time there and getting their advice.

I was very good friends with all the crew at the Gamblers Book Shop.

For those of you that have never been there on one of your trips to Vegas, I encourage you to make the pilgrimage down there.

It is a very short drive from the downtown area.
Make sure you lock your car doors before entering.
