He will coach the remaining two games though. Do you think the Giants will be better next year with another coach?

No....I think he is a fine coach, they may be better but it won't be because he is not there!

I expect Fassel to show up as Baltimore's Offensive Coordinator.

Fassel will definitely land on his feet. As for the Giants they really need to find a "Name" head coach. Denny Green might be the right man at the right time, do the Giants have the guts to hire him?

I watched each Giants game, some live some on TV and unfortunately Fassel is just ONE of the team's problems.

The Special Teams errors early in the season happened because the team is not well coached and the Dallas mistake happened due to an assistant coach giving the kicker a different instruction than the one Fassel gave to him. If Fassel's orders were followed that game probably would have gone to the Giants. What head coach has assistant that gives different (albeit slightly different) instructions to players when asked to relay the play?

The guys quit on him. When Fassel did not take DIRECT action with regard to Tiki's fumbling problems he lost a few of the players. I'm not saying bench Tiki or make him Levens' backup BUT Tiki should have started a game or two on the bench for the first offensive series.

Bottom line, the guy is a VERY good coach. He served the franchise well. He DERSERVES another shot given what he did with the team prior to this year. However, he SHOULD be sent packing because he has lost the locker room and the players have made it clear that they will not play for him.

BTW, the other problems with the team are injuries, a young O-line, and Tiki's fumbling, two of those things the new coach may not have to deal with next year. As for Tiki, he fumbled too many times in too many KEY situations. Hopefully, he'll work on it although there was never an indication that he was trying to figure out a way to reduce the fumbles.

Fassel wasn't the problem & he is getting the ax unfairly imo.

Have you seen the way the team has played under him this year? They seem unprepared and unmotivated. You have to put that on the coach. With that said, if he was given another shot I would not be appalled.

Even Fassel doesn't understand it, at one point he allegedly asked the players if they were "trying to get me (him) fired." (He never denied that statement.) Even he realized that although the team had injuries, he had enough talent on the field to compete and they just did not do that.

Getting CRUSHED by ATL sans Michael Vick...give me a break.

Fassel will land on his feet as he is a good coach. Giants players that quit on him will wish he is back if Johnson or Sargeant Coughlin take over.

would be a damned nice belated xmas gift if that were true.

with the number of veterans on the team, it needs a strong leader who the players will respect.

dream scenario - cowboys win the superbowl and parcells comes back home to ny.
