We are contiually bombarded with stories of Joe sophmore who started betting online and lost his tuition. Undoubtably most of us lost at first and many of us still do. The industry needs these weak players to fund the overhead and pay the lucky parlay (along with the grinders). My question is how much sympathy do you have for the Newbies with little knowledge, bankroll, strategy or clue?

I try and help the newbie as much as possible.

The more people that learn to enjoy this great hobby, the better.

That said Fish, This industry is carried on the back of weak players. There is a new class coming in each month, would you agree?

Many people will tell you it is better to be the player than the bookie these days.

Yes, it always changing.

Obviously, a majority of them are going to be life-long losers at sportsbetting.

This will ALWAYS be the case.

digressing slightly - how long did it take you to become a successful bettor i.e make steady profits (if ever).

I started at 17 and was a loser till 22. So 5 years learning curve - kicked butt since then though! Foor horse racing I reckon (my fav) the learning curve is longer so any newbies to horse racing keep you're betting very small in the early years.

Hey Valueidjit, why you lying?

you never figured out how to win at the track,

the market came back to you.

you typify the guy, who has zero chance, without the contributions of a competitive enviroment.
