Why does Boston want A-Rod so bad? (worth losing Manny and Nomar)

Seems like alot for one guy...The same could have been said when Texas gave up 250 million to get him....

I will ask the Boston faithful(since we have so many) in particular, is it worth losing Manny Ramirez and Nomar Garciaparra to get Alex Rodriguez?

I think at this point they have really pissed off Nomar either way he is gone...

Why was there never any talk of moving one of the two to a different position...perhaps shifting A-Rod to 3rd, eventually he will be to big and old to play short (similar to Ripken)

They will get more than just AROD!!

Manny and cash for Arod straight-up

Nomar may then go to CHISOX for Mags!

Boston may get a pitcher in the deal too.

Theo is no dummy.

ps- Having said that, most people do not realize how trully great MANNY is. Best RBI man of all-time.

I could not agree more about Ramirez, he is as great an RBI man as anyone ever...Did he just wear out his welcome that bad this past year, with the odd behavior?

Remember this team was one managerial right descision from going to the World Series!!??

I still can`t believe they blew it again, and after letting the dust settle, I don`t think Grady should have been fired...They have made alot of changes for a team that was so close, Shilling of course was the biggest plus...But to tear down an offense like this and to bring in the highest paid player, is this all necesary? Why not just move him to third or move Nomar to 2nd?

The big secret which I have found out from my friends in the media is the fact that they want Vladimir. No not the 15the century Count from Trannsylvania Willheim, but Vladimir Guerrero. He is going to hit 75 Home Runs in the Fenway Park this guy.

Manny is a great player but he is a cancer to the team I would trade Manny for A-Rod (future all-time HR champ) in a minute. They need to trade Pedro now also while they can still get something for him. He just can't stay healthy.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE NOMAR AND AROD GET ONE YEAR IN TOGETHER!

I think Manny may be more valuable than AROD however, at least in the short term.

BUT THE FUTURE IS NOW!

Let's see what that bastion of Christian love and tolerance has to say about the A-Rod situation:

The real Arod is Andy Roddick, the United States National Tennis Champion, not some overpaid mexican that plays for the Texas Rangers.

IMO, they should have left it alone when they got Schilling and Foulke.

No doubt that A-Rod and Ordonez are an upgrade over Nomar and Ramirez, but not a big upgrade.

If they can't get it done, it could be a serious disruption to team chemistry.

Manny just has that carrisma about him that makes the team better.

He had it in Cleveland, and he brought it to Boston.

The thoughts that Manny is a bad influence in the clubhouse and bad chemistry for the team are flat out a bunch of BS!!
