...If Sox get A-Rod and trade Nomar. Nomar is a stand-up guy, great ball player and fan favorite.

Just get this empty feeling that trading Nomar will be like selling Babe Ruth. May make sense from a finacial perspective and admit A-Rod is a better player, but bad ju-ju overall.

To me, Nomar was destined to be a guy like Yaz, a HOFamer who stays with the team he came up with.

Are u serious? N-O-M-A-H is a Turd...Yeah hes a great athlete, but hes no where near a Team Player, The great Yaz was...I Mean Come on, Damn near the Whole team shaved their heads for the play offs last year...And him , of all players, refused, citing his wedding was coming up. Nomahs wedding was far enough out from the play offs that a quick buzz wouldnt have done much harm to his precious wedding..and his doo..Thats crazy , I mean come on , take one for the team, your freakin wife ,of all people should understand the loyalty to your team..You should have shaved that head! O well..!!
There are other examples, but see what i mean..
But hes a great player...and great players get paid...I just think he's lost the respect from the players...IMO..So in theEnd ,,,You will see this all works out great for the redsox..

D,

I hope you're right that it works out great for the Sox, but i don't know anybody in New England that doesn't like Nomar.

Hey, if shaved heads was all it took, Kitna would've won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks a few years back.

My main concern is that other members of team see how easily Sox management jettison a player who has great talent, work ethic and charcter. Can't be a morale builder.

Especially when I see one year BoSox Kevin Millar say that Sox would be better off with A-Rod. Like who is he to get to air an opinion?

And worse yet, what if they can't trade Manny or Nomar with those guys in the clubhouse knowing:

A. There are other players on the team and wanting other teammates
B. Management wanted to trade them

I may be overly worrisome, but this has potential to create a big schism in the team.

IMO, if they would've left it alone when they got Schilling and Foulke, they would've been fine.

they wouldnt have been fine becuase nomar's contract was up and he wasnt being a team player. (he refused 4 yrs 60 mil, what a loser) now they get the best player in the leauge for at least 7 years. when nomar and manny are dealt and BOS gets a-rod next they will go after aubrey huff who was a power house for the d-rays.

the sox offense will improve as will its chemistry as will the defense and pitching etc etc etc. stop hateing. theo is a mastermind.
