Number of Outs & Distribution of Bankroll Question

Search
OK I know it's a pretty basic question to ask but I'm interested in people's opinions on this. I've been using a few outs (like 5) and equal distribution of funds in each book forever. How many books do you play at and how much do you put in each book? Do you put more in certain books that offer reduced juice and/or other perks? I'm thinking I want a little more line variety and to have funds more widespread so there is less in a book if I have a problem. I'm looking for percentages of bank not dollar amounts.

Thanks in advance for your replies folks. Always looking to make an informed decision.

i used to play at several books, but now im down to 3. for several reasons, i also have 2 active locals and 1 on occassion.. thats 5 regular outs, i keep half my bankroll in cash and half at the 3 books with about 40% at 2 places and 20% at the other.. i play about 1% of bankroll on each play (or less).. for example a 20k bankroll, 10k in cash, 4k at 1 book, 4k at another book and 2k at 3rd book, i may soon cut to only 2 online books by years end..

I believe you absolutely should have more money in the books you use more.

It also could depend on how the limits are at each book that also determines BR%.

number of outs is important..........in order to get the best variances in lines, you should have outs that cater to "sharps"
and outs that cater to "squares"......that way you are insured to get the best numbers you want........no use betting at 5 different books if they all have duplicate lines......

keep the minimum amount neccessary in each book to maintain your normal type of play......

Thanks guys this is the kind of info I'm looking for. dpo I used to keep SIA for that reason because it was like a free point if you liked the dogs but some of the stuff here about them scared me away. It's the same with BoDog....I've never played there but I hear a lot about their lines being soft (it would make sense hence the name BoDOG).

Are there books you can recommend that you feel deal soft lines? I would want to go where my money is safe. My group is pretty much always been Oly, Pinny, Intertops and I added Sports.com a little while back. I feel Oly and Pinny are very sharp and Intertops varies (they tend to weigh on the soft line side of things). Sports.com I don't really have a feel for yet.

Do you guys think 5 books is enough of a variety to get the line variances you need to be profitable? DPO said if they're all dealing the same lines there's no value which is the right point but I'm wondering if 5 outs is enough to get the variance (and I want to get paid so I would want 5 safe books).
