Well guys I have a strong feeling this years Heisman winner will be Eli Manning. Here are my simple reasons why. Disagree if you must. Agree if you like. Either way, I am taking the odds on him to win.

Reason why I rule out the other two favorites above Eli.

#1 Jason White- He probably would have won it and is actually was still the favorite at Carib sports, but has now been listed as +135. That is a big drop from Tuesday, when he was still listed as a -400 favorite. He won't win it because he lost the Big 12 Championship Game. He had two int. and did not throw a TD pass. He was exposed to the put, and this wont set in good with the voters.

#2 Larry Fitzgerald- He was listed to be second, but now is listed as the favorite at Even. I think he wont win it because one he did not make an impact in the Miami game, which could have given Pitt a share of the Big East Title, something that they never have been. That game will hurt his chances. Secondly, I think he wont win the Heisman because he is just a Sophmore. I remember, when Rex Grossman was clearly a favorite to win the Heisman, but it was noted that because he is a Sophmore voters may not be so willing to vote on someone coming back for two more years. I guess, they want you to be a Junior or Senior.

#3 Eli Manning

A. He has led Miss back to the National spotlight and brought back a winning tradition to Ole Miss, and almost guided Miss to the SEC Championship.
B. He just won that other award that recognizes the best college athlete in the Nation. Dam its name is eluding me at this time.
C. He passed for over 3,300 yards this year, had 27 TD's, w/ only 9 ints.
D. He is a Senior and is projected by many to be the first player taken in the draft.
E. He comes from a great tradition of QB's. Following his father Archie and his brother Payton Manning.
F. His father has a vote and I think it'll be for Eli.
G. He succeeded at QB, although playing under the pressure of living up to his father and brothers accomplishments.
H. He is a scholar athlete and great role model.
I. He set 45 records as QB at Miss. Breaking even some of his fathers records.
J. He is a wholesome young man and comes from a family who has been nothing but great representatives of this sport. Who better to bestow this award onto then him.

- I am sure I missed some, but I am drained right now. So add in to this thread if you desire to. I wont mind ,and would love the input.

Currently , he listed with the rest of the field at +350 . I like it , should have locked it in alot sooner , but I will take this dog.

Let me hear what you think . Aloha, CC.

Chris Perry (Michigan) 15-1
Eli Manning (Mississippi) 4-1
Jason White (Oklahoma) 1-6

You make some good points, but I think White will win because a lot of the voters placed their votes before the Big XII Chapmionship game, and he was clearly the favorite before the game. Eli will probably come in second just like the rest of his family members in the voting.

This is one case, where a lot of people will be talking about value this and value that. Well the only real value is take JASON WHITE no matter what the odds. He has a 95% chance of winning or higher. SO anything better than 1/10 is good value!

Dont fall into the online sportbook trap and take the other players for ANY ODDS!!!!! They will raise the odds as the weeks go on, but they will also sucker in the money!

I agree with Players, why would you take +350 for Fitz if you could get White for +135. Are you sure you can get White for that price? 1-6 looks more real to me.

Eli Manning is 9-1 at WSEX. Only 10% of the votes were cast before Jason White's last game. White is not a lock but he should win.

Marino's JR yr blows the guy away, sorry he wasn't on ESPN every other night, so they could form your opinion.

I will bet my HOUSE on Jason White. NO chance that he loses. You guys taking ANY OTHER candidate are just throwing money away. Either bet on White or dont place a bet on that at all. Remember that, YOU DONT HAVE TO BET ON TEH HEISMAN AT ALL. There are lots of basketball games on at about that time as well

That site has it narrowed down to White ahead by 4%. I think White will get the most 1st place votes but Fitz will get more 2nd and 3rd. Could be close. I hope not because i bet White -300 long time ago. Anybody have any more opinions on this?

ESPN reports that 350 votes were cast before Jason White's last game. White's stock just went up.

What was that award that was given to Eli, and is considered second to the Heisman for the best athlete in college football. Dam still cant recall it. Also , who has Eli at 10-1 or 9-1 , I'll hit that. Don't be fooled by what you hear or read guys, remember nobody thought Carson Palmer was going to win the Heisman either last year, remember. WSEX has Eli at 9-1 on their Futures Market. Heisman Projections predicted Carson Palmer would win the Heisman last year. They are also predicting Jason White will win it this year. What I can't figure out why everyone is going goo goo ga ga over Larry Fitzgerald. Randy Moss was more impressive at Marshall but he did not get nearly the publicity.
