I am not sure if this is for the whole State of Nevada or just Las Vegas.

because the gaming board are idiots,if a ticket is cashed it has no bearing on that months won/loss figure the loss is assinged to the month in wich it was posted not when it was cashed.

That is the way it should be. If you win $50,000 on a play tonight, but dont cash the ticket until next May the loss should be applied to December not May.

mvb- You bring up some good points. The Gaming Control Board and the Gaming Commission don't know the first thing about gambling. They're a bunch of bean counters that work as puppets for the casinos. Every six months or so they fine (it's never paid) a casino because some cashier didn't get a person's favorite color and mother's maiden name when they do a cash transaction over $10,000. They put it on the front page of The Las Vegas Review Journal (the city's local comic book) and everyone thinks someone is watching the casinos. Any gaming agent that ever gets a bit too inquisitive about a casinos inner workings quickly finds themselves on the unemployment line. That's why all the agents stay in their cubicles and shuffle papers.

Fezzik- You're a sharp guy. I would think you would know that it's kind of tough for any sportsbook to get "crushed" when they don't take a bet. Very few books even offer regular season wins anymore and their future books offer all the value of an umbrella in a hurricane.

when I started in the sportsbooks we hand wrote tickets, parlay cards were just like you would play at your corner bar,the horse races were recreated, there was a 5% tax on all bets, try to overcome laying -115 on every bet. What the bean counters have done to the buisness is disgraceful, those were the golden years of sportsbetting now you just point and click
