Thanks for the nice piece!!!

It's too bad that it's gonna fall by the wayside as most of these boys would rather gossip about Bluegrass than trying to improve a books presentation.

I've harped on a number of subjects in the four years that I've been betting online that would improve a book and because most of posters don't have a clue, the books don't care about improving their product.

If as many would speak up about WSEX and their bet window as they do with their flames at each other, we could have had that changed years ago.
But why should WSEX care if there isn't an a force in the forums for a change.

Noting that WSEX is one of my favorite books because they NEVER "log" me out but damn it annoys me to know end that they list 1st half numbers in 'time' order as opposed to the rotation....

I mentioned this in a thread over at MW a tonight too. But ALL books and even more so at Pinnacle, they need a "trap" in their system when a player makes a bet of less than $200 or a parlay where the line doesn't change.
I know I'm not the only one that is constantly having to re-do a bet because the line changed one or two cents at Pinnacle.
But small bets shouldn't be effected by any line change...just book the damn bet!!

I would disagree with you about Olympics presentation. I like all the options on that one page. I really like the fact that you can find baseball under baseball, hoops under hoops, etc....
You don't have to go searching for a speciality page to find a wager in a particular sport.
If you're looking to bet something/anything in baseball, you just click..baseball

And oh boy do I agree with you about just giving us a webpage to bet on like WSEX does..
I stopped playing at a couple of those books who put in that damn java platform.
Just brutal!!!!

On top of it all, the books don't understand that those of us who understand sports betting don't care about the flash and the nekked women. We want to bet fast and easy!!
Then on the other side of the coin, the weekend bettor (the square) is probably lost trying to figure out some of these systems.
They want simple because they only log in on Saturday and Sundays to make a couple of bets.

What's that old saying "KISS."
Keep It Simple Stupid

Again thanks for the nice read!!

P.S. yikes and I didn't even get a chance to bitch about those books who "time" us out..lol

Thanks for the feedback. Agreed that books have their own reasons for doing what they do. I guess part of it is that the highest playing customers, the ones that could demand change better, are still mostly doing the phone thing outside of Pinnacle. Maybe the books think that for the time being the online business is mostly the province of the squares and small bettors and they believe java aps and pretty pages with girls in swimsuits is what appeals to this crowd. In a way I can see it being true, if you are a certified loser that just bets for the thrill of the action, you want as much entertainment value as you can get. These people probably only have one or two books and don't shop for numbers so they have little need for speedy pages and probably won't use their cell phone to place bets. Still though this is supposed to be the way of the future so it would behoove books to get on board as quickly as possible. Maybe it won't generate a lot of action now, but technology is such that it starts slow and then suddenly gets adopted in a matter of months.
