What is with Bodog and their soft lines anyway?

Does anybody have a good answer as to how this book can stay in business when underdogs are continually afforded better value, almost across the board? Tonight's MNF line is a typical example with CLE +6.

Pretending,
Enjoy those soft lines while you can, because after you play a few you'll get dualed.

The squares will lay any number.

If they hung 7 tonight people would still bang it.

Low limits coupled with a slew of squares I would presume.

Why be at -5 on a game, when they have many that will gladly lay -6.

So, do they book -6 and then go and bet -5 elsewhere to neutralize the risk??

Before kickoff yesterday there were many books laying much softer lines than Bodog??????? Only game at 1:00 that was off and i wouldn't even consider it off was the Cincy +4.5 so don't think Rob and the boys don't know what they are doing.

Easy explanation. They book to their action. If they are hanging 6,they are loaded on the Rams.If they get enough buy back, they will drop it back down.

So did they hedge elsewhere or did they just book to their action? I don't buy into some of these answers.

Why does it matter??? They are run by some of the better managers in the business, I am sure they aren't taking too much risk. It would be one thing if it was obvious they were gambling, if many lines were off both ways, but they almost always offer a better price on the dog so you just have to assume they prevent getting hit too hard by their chalk loving players.

I doubt they lay off their action much, they really don't need it. Enough decent players are out there to take the dog when it gets out of line, if you notice they are usually only a hook off the prevailing line so not enough to get much in the way of scalps.

Thanks Bill, it really doesn't matter and I should just keep quiet. It just maddens me to see it everyday and I'm always reminded of the Pats +14.5 for the Superbowl vs. STL. I always suspect that these guys are gambling, but you make a good point, it's always the dog getting value. I guess I am also pissed because I can't get their line. It's a Catch-22 issue - I can't trust them when I see this and I don't want the account without the crazy lines. I end up picking them for the Rx contest at least.

...boy STL sucks. I'm tired of losing money on these frauds.

Pats +14.5 was a different shop, different limits and most importantly different clientele
