I cant call you now, but I was wondering if you will be grading my NE to win AFC East plays now that they have clinched ? Or do those plays only get graded at the end of the season ? I have 3 NE plays worth about $700 and I was just wondering. The quicker they are graded - the quicker I will lose it.

Just asking because I had them at Intertops and they graded it, so I didnt know what the typical grading scheme was on division winner plays.

In other words, he scalped it and the loser has been graded already

Lander,

You cant very well scalp a wager with 4 possible outcomes. I had NE at Intertops and they graded it today so I thought Olympic might.

Chris,

No prob. I didnt know the division winners had to go 16 games. I knew reg season wins did. Oh well, no problem I can wait 3 weeks. Thanks.

It's mathematically possible. There were plenty over scalps on division winners around early.

Thanks areef.

Danny,
In fact, the most widely scalped sport is soccer and that has 3 outcomes

But you'll need a little mathmatically prowness to work out the formula for that one. I actually did it as a personal challenge although I've never scalped soccer.

If Olympic has the disclaimer fine..

But like Intertops, I've had books grade division winners as soon as they clinched!!

Most books want to get your money back in action so they can get a piece of it asap...

Areef,

There is no way you are going to scalp a wager with 1 million outcomes and assure a profit no matter who wins. Books dont give fair odds on the longshots. For instance the longest shot should be something like 10,000,000 to 1 odds ( if there are 1 million outcomes ) and you will be getting maybe 40 to 1 odds.

That is like trying to cover every team on the prop -- WHO WILL WIN THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP. You can go find the best price available on every team and you still wont be close to a scalp. Teams like Orlando should be 50,000 to 1 and you probably cant find them at 500 to 1.

As far as scalping a 4 team division, that may be more likely but I still doubt you could truly scalp it. Yes, you could just ignore the Jets and The Bills and get NE at + 150 and Miami at +125 and call that a scalp. But, it isnt really a scalp if there exists a possibility that you might lose.

If you do get lucky and find good enough odds on all teams to make a real scalp, you will probably be risking $50,000 to make $100 profit.
In a 4 month season, you have to be making at least 3 % profit I would say ( that is close to a 10 % APR ). If you are only making back .2 % on what you have to invest, you might as well leave the money in a 4 % C.D. . That way you dont have to worry about the book that has the winning play going under as well.

Lv711,

I know they have graded my division winners early before. They graded my NBA division winners early. Thats why I thought I would ask. It doesnt matter though, Olympic will still be around in 3 weeks. I do understand where Chris is coming from with this. If there was some disaster and the season wasnt played out, everyone who had Miami, Buffalo, and the Jets would want a No Action.

I just went to check

Olympic has Orlando to win the NBA championship at 75 to 1 odds

75 to 1 odds ??? Lmao

I wouldnt take them to win 30 games at 75 to 1 odds.

Olympic is one of if not THE fastest grader of plays when they are final. They have even graded plays for me 1-2 before the final if it was a blowout. I remember once they graded a basketball play for me 2 min before the final and somehow the other team came back and covered. So they had to reverse the winnings and it became a mess for them I'm sure. Thus I can understand they might be a bit more cautious now. But I do respect them for being, in my opinion, the fastest.
