The Dr. Pepper contest where the guy has to kick a routine FG for cash...I would take the chip shot FG, its easier to nail and with less prescision than a 1 shot 3 ptr.

The FG is easier because its a 'one shot deal'...Hard to get in a rythm with one shot...A FG you just go up and nail it..30 yds is not much...

For the extreme gambler, I will give a 3rd option for 500K you can select this one over the other two,lol...

Randy Johnson on the mound and you have to bunt one of his 100 mph heaters in fair ground

you get one contact bunt,lol..
Half the Major League players would fail on this one

Definitely a 3 pointer - much higher percentage of average people could heave a basketabll toward the rim and get lucky. Very few average people could kick an 18 yd FG, much less a 30 yarder.

Provided you get a few months of practice in before the big shot, I'd have to figure the FG would be easier.

The field goal--easy.

I hit once over 35 and several in the 20-30 yard range. Could hit two out of five from fifty in pratice with no rush. No shoe or socks, no soccer kick, toes curled up and straight on--in high school long ago. A bit later I actually envied Tom Dempsey. How bad is that?

Same high school long ago in hoops I made a put back, one short jumper and four out of six free throws for 8 total points--8 fouls too. I crashed the boards and played hard. Got all this done with less than two minutes left, usually less than one, through the course of about 20 games the one season I played.

And you never broke a toe?

I heard of 'toe balling it' but curled toe and barefoot is a new one

Both of these are very easy. 60-yard field goal would be tough . . .

Journey this is no lie. There was a college kicker somewhere back then who did just that. No, I never broke a toe nor did I even hurt my toes. I would suggest you buy a kicking tee and try it.

Make sure you curl your toes as much as you can. The pad of your foot is pretty square and eliminates shanks from a shoe. Also less weight on the foot will get you a few extra yards. Let us know what happens.

I am old now and my leg is not as strong, but at the next RX get together should I make it there, I will bring a tee and a football. We can head to the closest football field, and I will make three kicks as described from 30 yards out and will hit one of the three. You can make book on the kicks. I will of course bet on myself up to a nickle.

100 K, I missed that, Shrink you got those $$'s. I'm your ticket. Trust me. You back me and I take 10%. 30 yds is a LOCK Shrink. I really only need two shots at it but think I could get it done with one just one.

Solemnly promise not to drink for 24 hours. But my folks were almost Polish and I'm pretty fat so it shouldn't matter anyway. In fact, I would do better with some numbness of nerves in case someone tries to freeze me.

With some practice, the FG should be easiest. There are many pro basketball players that have trouble hitting 3 pointers, unguarded.

Without any practice...definitely a 3-pointer...if you had the time to train I would go with the field goal.

And some super stars can't hit a free throw - but then being 7 ft 1 and weighing 325 in the NBA means scoring in other ways.

A 30 yard FG is no easy task for the average person.
