I feel I need to voice my 2 cents, as TheRx has ALWAYS been an advocate of free expression.

I agree that posters who throw personal flames, and go off on unexplained tangents or agendas should be curbed, edited, or at the very least tossed to the rubber room.

However, I think that banning posters that are anti-RX is not contructive. Obviously those who have an agenda are transparent, and everyone sees that.

This site is successful because we have been a free, open forum. Becoming a Policed site will not stop those w/ agendas, as it's easy enough to create a new identity thur proxy - so who are we kidding. The mods would be overloaded w/ this new policy - being forced to make decisions on each and every post.

So in the spirit of the OPEN RX FORUM that I have enjoyed and advocated for YEARS..

THIS BLOWS.

Then lander did have admin powers at one time. Actually, I know that he did. A little bird told me so (guess which bird?).

Shrink: what's with the edit mark? Nothing was changed.

lander: 38 ghosts is WAY off. I've had at least 300 (Jim's had almost 50).

I didn't say it as well though.

I hope the policy as Pat called it "taking out the trash" is reconsidered. It's the easy way out for the mods but it will destroy the site in due time.

It's not my site but I could not agree more with the owners. It shouldn't be too much to ask someone to respect the other posters we have. As for as having differing opinions that will never end, I sure as hell hope not. It would be boring if no one disagreed. The whole routine though of "your mother is a whore" and seeing who can slander the other one the worst is what needs to go. When 1 or 2 guys is ruining the experience for 75 others it's easy to see something needs to be done.

Just my opinion, differing one's are allowed.

Exactly what I think the owners are calling for. You can have an anti-RX stance as you call it but still treat the others posters with some sort of respect. Don't think it's too much to ask of anyone.

At least that's the way I see it.

Thanks, D2 - that was quite a bucket of cold water - I'd have never seen that with the title.

Yup, the only impression possible was that there was only one owner, in the course of that topic it was not only revealed there were several owners but that the others wished to remain anonymous, and the only one that wasn't anonymous had a link to one of his casinos removed from the front page by the Shrink.

I wonder how Marty is taking this public flogging and then the takedown of his personal casino link by Ken, which a reasonable person would have to assume that the various posters' complaints concerning this casino were valid?

If you disabled the feature that alerts posters when another poster make a posts, it will defuse allot of the atttacks/fights etc that start between posters that usually leads to pissing matches/flaming etc.

I know it's a good feature of the software but if you disabled for a couple of months you might see a big difference and a DROP in flaming between posters. This way they will not know when a poster they do not like just made a post. I have never used it, but I think other posters that flame use it allot.

Just disable it for 2 months and see.
