HOLIDAY HELP...PLEASE READ...

To all posters and moderators,

For the past 3 or 4 years, Sportbet.com and its group of sister books has taken to collecting for a local charity called Manitas de Amor. Manitas is a charity set up to help the orphans of Costa Rica. They take care of them, cloth them, feed them, take them out on trips, etc... The guy in charge is a true saint that goes above and beyond for these kids. We donate a little every month, and even that small amount goes a long way.

This time of year is the toughest for Manitas de Amor. They have thousands of kids and not nearly enough donations. They are a private charity, and they have to compete with the mass marketing done for the public charities here, in CR. Our companies have adopted a group of children again, just like every year. However, this year, we are asking for help from our clients, as well.

Should any one of you feel compelled to make a donation...no matter the amount, please let our Customer Service Department know. We will deduct the amount from your account balance and donate it to Manitas de Amor. They will gladly send you a receipt, for tax purposes, should you chose. Should you donate more than $20, we will also send a video cd of the children receiving their gifts. Gents, keep in mind, even $10 goes a long way down here. I hope you find it in your hearts to make a donation. Thanks for your time.

Donations will be taken from the following sites:

www.sportbet.com
www.islandcasino.com
www.getabet.com
www.ibetcasino.com

Thanks, again.

Jake,

Great move. Any way those of us without an account with you can pitch in a few dollars too?

Tablarasa,

SURE THING. I would say, open an account, send the money and then tell them to just have the funds all credited to the Manitas de Amor. THANKS...THAT IS A GREAT ATTITUDE!!! I will also ask the folks at Manitas if I can post their info....I am sure they will allow it.

Angelle,

ANYTHING WILL WORK for these kids. I will work on a mailing address for you.

thanks!

I usually send toys to local kids..
But I will send them to CR this year.

When you get me an addy can you find out the age range of the children they help?

If you would like to see their website, it is www.manitas.org It has not been updated for sometime, as most is done by volunteers, but at least you will get an idea.

If you choose to make a donation directly to them, please send it to:

Jake,
You know what I am really interested in. Maybe next time Angelle and I come down there you will be able to take another blackmail picture. You never know what could happen. You know how we are when we are in Costa Rica.

Thanks Jake! I have been wanting to do this also after reading Queenofhearts thread in bookie chat. She is doing something like this to in bookie chat....I will be sending something also...

She says the kids need socks and t shirts in cr...more then toys

Dante,

That is great. I have not seen her posts, but I will check.

Really, ANYTHING will help. Of course, clothes are always in need. It is just nice for a kid to get toys, especially when they are not given presents that often.

Sounds like a nice charity but please dont forget about our local (U.S.A) charity & USMC sponsored, Toys for Tots program.

Hope everyone will give generously to both.

GL and God Bless.
